Why was she taking a 19 month old to a funeral?
Maybe she had no one to stay with him. He’s her son. She doesn’t need a reason. There’s no excuse for his being assaulted.
Good grief! What a silly question. Most funerals are also family reunions. I’m sure the family members wanted to see the baby and his mom, too.

You’re right. She should have left her own kid at a government approved boarding facility instead of responsibly taking the child with her.
Of all the questions involving this situation I would rank this one the stupidest.
Why not? Most funerals I attended as a child were more akin to a large family reunion vs. a sad event.
