TRENTON — The Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee today approved 20 bills aimed at reducing gun violence after a raucous day-long meeting before an overflow crowd.
“Whether it’s the streets of New Jersey communities, a movie theater in Colorado or an elementary school in Connecticut, enough is enough is enough,” said the committee’s chairman, Charles Mainor (D-Hudson), recounting a series of gun massacres. “No more talk. It’s time for action.”

Bottom line: public does not want gun confiscation, politicians vote for it anyway.

Yet the public will happily march off to the polls next election and vote for those very same politicians. This is especially true in a blue state like New Jersey. The public is getting exactly what they deserve.
To those who fear that a Constitutional Convention would destroy the RKBA, the present trajectory of government is in fact to do just that. And yet, instead of starting to even talk about the next peaceful option, some are talking about an option that is not peaceful.
Recall that any proposal of a Convention must be ratified by a super-majority of surviving states. A Convention would give us the opportunity to repair may of the defects we presently suffer from.

What the hell is wrong with these people?
As a example, I just watch a local weather report where they talked about man made global warming going to kill us all, then when they did the weather report said the temp would be ten degrees below normal until the foreseeable future, and did that without blinking an eye.
Weak. Here in Kaleefawneeyaw we have 27 gun grabbing bills slated.

It's terribly sad, but human nature is what it is - and history repeats itself over and over again. Mankind will never change. When it comes to politics, the majority of people are followers and are extremely susceptible to appeals to emotion. History is replete with examples of populations living in dire circumstances that continue to support failed parties and politicians almost no matter what.

Go on and dare.
It should be obvious to most conservatives by now that — at least in “the blue states” — there are going to be extreme legal measures taken to restrict gun and ammunition sales, require registration, perhaps even confiscation. New York was first, but will be far from the last.
Gun owners can protest all they want — when the ‘rats are in control, they’re going to have their way. Is this really very difficult to comprehend?
There is almost a race between the blue states to see which will become the most restrictive on guns. It ain’t over yet.
Of course, this doesn’t guarantee there will be _compliance_ with the new laws, but before too long, we will see “examples made”. Who’s going to stop them?
It may be that the only option for Second Amendment folks is to GET OUT of the blue states while the gettin’ is good. Seek refuge in the red states, where legislatures and law officials are actually moving in the conservatives’ direction.
I realize that this must often be done under great personal sacrifice. But there may be little choice.
One can choose to stay in a blue state, and face the consequences of the growing “new slavery”, or relocate to a red state, where (at least for now) a greater measure of freedom survives.

I put my tinfoil hat on to type this reply.
Let’s just suppose that out of the blue there _was_ a new Constitutional Convention, convened at the bequest of the [mostly] red states.
Could they propose that the existing nation be disbanded, the blue states expelled, and a new nation with new borders constructed from the red and purple states alone?
Jes’ wonderin’...
Vote ‘em out. Every last one.

In exactly three words: nullification and secession.
With the vote system we’ve got up here? That isn’t an option.

That phrase is about a irritating as “packing heat”.
