Just hours after filming began, three crew members shooting a reality TV show died overnight in a California helicopter crash, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 3:40 a.m. in a rural, northern area of Los Angeles County, The Associated Press reported.
Filming had just started on Saturday, the AP said.
Polsa Rosa Ranch is a popular site for commercials, movies and TV shows, the Los Angeles Times said.
The helicopter, a Bell 206, crashed under unknown circumstances, the Federal Aviation Administrations Allen Kenitzer told the LA Times...
He told the newspaper it appeared the reality show centered on the military.

That’s some rugged terrain up there. I wonder which show they were filming.
3:40 A.M.

I am also curious. What are they filming at 3:40 AM?
(not condoning, just commentin' on the comment)
For all we know, it was probably some cops who shot the chopper down. They probably thought it was a media chopper disobeying their orders.
IF that's true it will never be found out, and there will never be any consequences to those who shot it down.
Even worse - they thought it was a Nissan Titan.
Who, what, when, where, why, and how - all in the first sentence, if possible.
Six sentences in and we still don’t know the name of the show.
Back to j-school for the writer.
This kind of sloppy writing is becoming increasingly common.
It’s odd that they don’t mention the show. It would be embarrassing if much of “Survivor:Borneo” or whatever were filmed in California.
I caught an ad on Animal Planet today that raises a few questions for me.
It claimed to be about US military hunting poachers in Africa. I’m wondering if anyone knows about the show, if they’re actual military and what authorization they would have to enforce foreign laws in foreign nations.
According the LA Times, it isn't named; their permit says it is "Untitled Military Project" for the Discovery Channel.
any bets they had a retired special forces type on board
The LAPD thought the chopper was a gray Nissan Titan and shot it down.
Could be a contractor doing night shot segments that get edited in to TV shows or movies. As a trucking executive based in Santa Fe Springs, CA (LA) back in the 1970’s our terminal was used as a backdrop ... the primary interest trucks coming and going at night. Go figure.
No problem folks, all part of the show, How I Died Doing Sumpin’ Stupid.
RIP.
That’s what I’m wondering. Did we just lose another second amendment proponent? If so, this is leaving coincidence behind and heading into the realm of enemy action.
