Needs to be warm. How about a Hot Toddy?
I keep forgetting to ping Marco to these threads, and there’s a lot here to learn from. Marco is a serious student when she sets out to do something. I know she’s got some seeds, because I sent ‘em to her. She’s far enough south that she needs to be actively working the gardening thing now.

Marco,
Let me know if you would like to be added to the weekly garden ping list.
Finding a good person to do repairs is a necessity for us - be it cars or other stuff. We like to use it for ever.
LOL! Don’t think I have any Jack, but maybe I should see what would go good in a hot chocolate . . .
I'm actually doing some experimentation on a flavoring syrup made with coffee, chocolate, and tequila. It will be used in/with a bread pudding.
Of course, all the fun is cooked out of the tequila by the time the sauce is finished, but the flavors are very, very close to 'good, dammit'.

Congratulations on the job . . . and God be with you on the health issues. Have enjoyed your posts on the gardening thread . . . stay positive!
Anyone have a better alternative than using peat pots for starting plants in a ‘greenhouse’(plastic lean-to)?
Not more expensive, a little more work is OK though.
Try a hot soldering iron on those Solo cups JR...
I do have cheap gardening gloves because I hate dirt on my hands and under fingernails - it isn't going to happen.
I can get seeds growing, maybe. I have to do something with the freaking tobacco seeds since Johnny gave them to me. I do plan to get that stack up gardening thingy because I can't stoop down to the ground more than a few times or I can't walk the next day. That's lower back two degenerated disks. Had that checked years ago and surgeon said don't touch that as it could be worse after surgery. Said best thing is to not put on weight and I haven't but over the years, it gets worse.
There has to be a way to grow food without groveling on the ground. I do have some pots and could get more. Have an ornamental iron table out there and could put pots on that so I don't have to bend. I'll think of some way to get pots up.
So, I need to get Roma tomatoes it sounds like. If they grow well for Johnny, surely they will grow well here. I remember Lowes having a section of non-hybrid seeds - wonder if there are Romas there?
So, I will try and see what happens. My garden area is small behind my townhouse, but I found out years ago why my taxes are more than the other townhouses in here. There are only 6 townhouses with three bedrooms and mine is one of those but my tax was more than those and should be the same. Then, I found out my garden is bigger than the rest. That being the case, those other people can't grow much at all with gardens smaller than mine and I doubt they do.
I will go to Lowes Monday and get what I need to start seeds and look at seeds. If I get anything to grow, I expect you guys to sing the Hallelujah Chorus.
Newspaper pots work good. Instead of buying a needlessly expensive ($12-$50+) turned wooden “pot former”, you can make one out of scrap PVC & a couple of fittings.
Other people use straight-sided glasses, jars, etc.
I made mine last year, and had very good success with it. Don’t worry about the ink, as it is all soy-based now, even (most) colored inks.
Our local Ace has a bin in the rear with inexpensive odd pipe lengths in it that are left over from cutting pieces for other customers. I used a 12” length, and cut it in half to have a better handle on things; and used a regular slip-fit cap on the top to push against. Slip-fit the parts, and slide into the coupling to make sure they fit & there’s clearance before buying: the parts bins are notorious for people mixing up sizes.
This year, I may put together a larger one, though I’ll have to experiment with newspaper sizes.
Google around, and you’ll find other ideas as well, including how turn a wooden one, if you have a lathe.
Hallelujah! There’s the first 4 notes. (Grin)
I have a little issue with the lower back too. That’s why I love pots on the retaining wall and patio table.LOL.
Starting tomatoes is fraught with pitfalls.
I'm a big Handel fan, so the Hallelujah Chorus is no big deal except for using the carpenter's clamp to get up to the high notes.

Sorry to hear about the injury to your leg. Hope it feels better soon. :)
OK, will buy the plants after March.
If I actually get a tomato, start singing.
I certainly will, pictures and everything! It's growing like crazy now (it's 3 inches tall 8 days after germinating), so I anticipate it will do well. We'll probably give some of them away to family and friends, but we might have a few to sell down down at the local farmers market.
Thanks!
I made origami boxes for seed-starting one year. They worked pretty well.
