Besides President Barack Obamas executive actions regarding illegal aliens and U.S. immigration policy, without much notice by the GOP and news organizations, drastic reductions are expected within the Department of Homeland Securitys immigration enforcement-related bureaus, said a top protective intelligence and assessment specialist on Monday.
Required budget reductions for the DHS will seriously undo much of the progress made over the past few years to secure our borders said Dr. Lyle J. Rapacki, a consultant at Behavioral Analysis and Threat Assessment.
Dr. Rapacki claims there also will be a noticeable negative impact on aviation and maritime safety and security as well as an increase in potential infrastructure vulnerability. The budget reductions will also hamper disaster response time, and totally eliminate cyber security infrastructure advances made in the last couple of years, he added.
Over 24,500 jobs associated with Homeland Security, Border Patrol, Customs and Immigration will be lost, said Dr. Rapacki.
More than 3,000 Border Patrol agent positions will be lost, a reduction to below FY 2009 levels which will leave about 17,900 agents, claims Rapacki.
In addition, up to 3,400 Customs and Border Patrol personnel will be cut. Besides a negative impact on national security, this reduction will significantly increase wait times at our nations ports of entry.
The important Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will lose more than 930 special agents in the next DHS budget. A reduction of this size will significantly impact efforts to investigate crimes involving terrorism, transnational threats, especially from cartels, and international child pornography, Dr. Rapacki warns.

This is partially happening because CBP increased the journeyman pay grade for CBPO’s and BPA’s to GS-12. That increase was made, but there hasn’t been a budget passed since then so funding for those pay increases have come from operational budgets.
News flash. These cuts will be made on the Southern border, Northern border will remain fully staffed to push back those hordes of pesky Frostbacks.
Well so much for the plan of securing the border and then giving the amnesty. :-)
I often think how many jobs would be created with the elimination of just one person from one particular Executive Branch job.
Just thinking again about how many more jobs would be created by the elimination of a bunch of other Leftist idiots from multiple other jobs in association with the one Executive Branch person noted above.
Finally am thinking about how many more perhaps millions of jobs would be created by eliminating various departments, and their supporting regulatory bureaucracies operating under the Executive Branch control.
The anti american democrats logic. Less border patrol. More voters. It’s a win win for these frauds.
Less border security... cool! Do the cartels hold gun shows in Mexico? /sarc
I’m wondering if we’re going to be issued North American Union membership cards or will we have to apply for them.
I’m also wondering if the NAU membership card can be carried in a wallet or purse or will it be permanently attached.
Just wondering.
Obama (if he was honest): You’re getting amnesty and the border will NEVER be secured. Take that peasants!
He exceeds Hitler in ruining his country.
IMHO, you're making a hugh assumption there will be an "after Obama."
There will be no North American Union, so called. Trust me, things are moving in the opposite direction.
But...Pornisha and Shaniqua will continue to get their EBT cards.
(”Pornisha”-HONESTLY! I even heard the name “Lasagne” over the PA system in a store, one day...damn near died laughing!)
Anything in particular make you say that? Living in the NAU isn't supposed to be an ideal situation so to me the opposite direction sounds pretty good.
It's puzzling to me that some of US can recognize the ongoing vigorous displacement of our culture and the wasting of our future generations by the oblique and incomprehensibly protected educators we grandly pay; and we can cringe as the elimination of our southern border continues unabated amidst the bureaucrats crowing lies of border stoutness and safety, while together we stand as witnesses to the complete disregard of our Constitution by those who took the oath to support and defend it.
That we can believe all those nefarious actions coupled with the hundreds of little murders inflicted regularly on our Liberty in State and Federal compromise sessions, that we can believe all that is happening and expect something completely opposite of the establishment of a corporate scientific dictatorship using the UN as the governmental model and enforcer of Order as a replacement system, well, I have to know more.
Yes, many things in particular and in general.
1. There is no stomach for a currency union. One only has to look at the Euro to know what a disaster that would be. Who in their right mind would want to contract out their monetary policy to those money printing maniacs in Washington?
2. Canadians are aghast at the third world status of your urban areas and want no part of it. If you want some personal observations on this, freepmail me.
3. Believe it or not, there is a strong strain of anti-Americanism in Canada. Any politician advocating a NAU would be expunged overnight.
4. There would be no advantage to a NAU for Canada. Absolutely none.
5. In general, rather than a larger political union in North America, I think the political situation in the US is close to spinning out of control. The last time that the dispute between the federal government and the states was this bad was in the 1860's. You know what happened then. I don't know where this "North American Union" stuff comes from. You hear absolutely none of it in Canada. With respect, I think you are the victim of some right wing paranoia. I can say that because, politically, I am slightly to the right of Rush.
I agree completely with the rest of your post.
Looking to the performance of the Euro as an argument against hooking the Canadian dollar to the American dollar is a false debate since the euros future, like the dollars (or a resurrected amero)is limited by the eventual introduction of a global money system.
Learning that progressive Canada is aghast at the third world status of our urban areas comes as no surprise. It takes their minds off their own slum situations scattered about.

I’m not doubting a strong strain of anti-Americanism in Canada. I’ve noticed that canuckian attitude a long time ago when they visited the New Jersey shore to thaw out. I’m guessing they bring it when they come to the States for health care, too. But Canadians would have to be aware of the NAU threat before they expunged any politician. So I’ll include a couple of recent articles that indicate the NAU is alive and well despite the efforts to reduce it to a paranoid right wing dream.

Of course, the Canadian bureaucrats don’t come right out and say NAU...
http://actionplan.gc.ca/en/page/bbg-tpf/2012-beyond-border-implementation-report
And believe it or not, there doesn’t have to be an advantage to Canada for the NAU to exist. This isn’t about Canada. Nor is it about US and neither is it about Mexico. It’s about Them.
I was with a group of people in Senator Santorums office discussing our unsecure borders back when he was in office and the question, ‘What benefit do the citizens of the United States gain from this invasion’?
The Senators staff member replied, ‘ There is no benefit to the citizens but for the corporations...’ at which point she was overwhelmed by shouts from around the table.
Canadians may be denying it but the third world is being spread about for a reason... to make the shift into global governance easy.
Any necessary replies will be made tomorrow.
