Sen. Mark Begich, a Democrat in Republican-leaning Alaska, is sure to be targeted by Republicans in 2014, his seat a must pickup if the GOP hopes to retake control of Congress upper chamber.
But Begich is showing surprising strength and popularity, according to a new survey of the 49th State by Public Policy Polling. He has a 49 percent job approval rating, with only 39 percent disapproving of the job hes doing. And Begich leads a bevy of likely Republican challengers.
Sarah Palin Sarah Palin: The Tea Party loves her, but approval ratings have plummeted back in Alaska.
He has a big, big lead 54-38 percent over former Gov. and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. Palin was recently jettisoned from her pundits position by the Fox News Channel. She quit as governor in mid-term to make money.

It is the “Post-Intelligencer”.
I would be embarrassed to have my company name translate into “What Is Left After the Intelligence is Gone”.
She quit as governor in mid-term to make money.
No bias there
Pretty bad when you only hold a 50 percent lead over a someone that is not running for the office.
Gov. Parnell is straight up with Sen. Begich even in this Pee Pee Poll. Parnell is a Palin-type reformer. He will have completed one full term plus the approx. two years of Palin’s unexpired term in 2014. He would be an instantly credible candidate and probably save us a divisive primary for the Senate seat.
His Lt. Gov. is popular enough and would have no problem holding that position.
Alaska is a really good pick-up opportunity for us in 2014. One of many.
The pre-emptive strike against anything Sarah Palin might decide to do begins...
Well stated. Will add it to my daily praying for America. "Restoration of the righteous intent of America" -- Amen.
This time they need to target Begich ~
