This guy in Alabama supposedly shot a school bus driver and took a child hostage down in his bunker?

That seems fishy!

#1 - We live in a very large country, so there are usually going to be multiple incidents of any type of crime on any particular day.

#2 - Sometimes, when a crime gets a lot of media attention, it produces copycats.

I think our current society and economy are producing more and more people that are either just fed up, or on the verge of going postal.

I think it is a “shark attack” reporting trend, where the media fixates on a story type and reports anything that is related. It makes it seem like there is an increase in the incidents or that they are all related when it just the attention paid by the media to something they would normally ignore or not cover so extensively.

More publicity. Every shooting (other than gang bangers in the inner city) is being reported far and wide. Prior to Sandy Hook the Phoenix thing would have been 10 seconds on the evening news and the Alabama incident would have gotten maybe 30 seconds.

The reason for it is:

When you have a population of 315,000,000 you end up with thousands of people who are out of balance.

Psychologist are handing out antidepressant and antipsychotic drugs like they are candy. Ritalin is probably the gateway drug.

We have stopped housing those whose psychosis is self-directed as well as those whose psychosis is directed outward.

A certain number of people will look at the hysterical, weeping anchors covering the latest shooting and say “cool”.

It’s probably a combination of crazies, people who want their 15 minutes and the media trying to make it as visible as possible so they can take advantage of the scourge of gun violence. If they really wanted to make gun owners/users look worse, they’d start going giving conservative, abusive, fascist police officers who take pleasure in shooting dogs more coverage. All you have to do is claim that they used an assault weapon, doesn’t matter if they did or not. The War on Dogs.

Some of this stuff has me looking at the box of tin foil in the pantry a bit differently. Now wish I bought stock in the makers of tin foil and Bushmaster years ago.

Selective media coverage. This season’s “shark (or pitbull) attacks” news items.

The shooting in Houston last week was near an area known as “Gunspoint Mall” (actually Greenspoint Mall) in Queen Sheila Jackson Lee’s district. One guy dissed another and shooting ensued.

Over 500 murders in Chicago last year. Rarely make national news. But if you need to find the “these things happen in threes” trend going in the news cycle, any shooting will be made a national news item (no one died in the shooting of 3 people in Houston, by the way).

It is about chaos news coverage in the hourly/daily cycle. The media is pushing buttons. They don’t care about deaths.

52 million children killed by abortion (not to mention the number of women maimed or killed by botched LEGAL abortions) and the media doesn’t give it national coverage.

All of these recent shootings are suspicious to me. There are many things reported about the Sandy Hook shooting that don’t make sense. The second problem is that the only proposed solution to crime in the U.S. is to confiscate guns from honest, law abiding citizens. There is no attempt whatsoever to target violent criminals.

The agenda of the Communist Party U.S.A. has for a long time been the confiscation of guns from patriotic citizens. The MSM and the politicians blindly follow this policy.

They have been happening........

Just now the MSM is pushing them up to the top of the "news".

The agenda is set...and the MSM is running with it.

The last reason is that after the Gun Free Zone bill (Biden - D Delaware) was passed school shootings increased 500%. The Feds created shooting galleries.

Let me turn the question around and ask it this way: Every day throughout the U.S. there are incidents where people saved their lives and others by having guns for protection. So why, is there so little reporting NATIONALLY on these incidents?? We have to learn about them from a local outlet that is then posted to the internet.

The 15-yr-old boy who used an AR-15 to drive off two home invaders saved himself and his younger sister. A wife and mother protected her 9-yr-old twins from a home invader who tracked them to their hideout in an upper floor crawl space. She shot him 5 times but he was merely wounded and staggered out of the house where he was then caught. But the police did not get there in time to protect her, she had to do it herself with her husband’s 38 revolver. If she had needed more than those bullets, because he had had an accomplice or had been shooting at her, the story would’ve ended horribly.

These stories prove the need for self protection. The national media does not carry them.

So, I think the same answer applies to why so many stories on gun attacks. You think it’s odd that so many occur close together, but I believe more likely the media is manipulating stories that would not ordinarily make the national headlines, necessarily. Yes Sandy Hook would, but not all the rest of them, EXCEPT the media is agenda-driven to attack guns and gun owners.

We pretty much always have 6 or 7 shootings in the Tidewater Va area monthly.

All media outlets are digging for any stories about gun violence after Sandy Hook. It sells so they run with it. It will taper off after a time.
