One has to wonder if McCain hurt her by not letting her first finish her governor term.

of course it was too soon for her... i said so at the time... others said so... i knew she could be a strong voice for conservatives in the future, but not by starting out as McCain's running mate... it was too soon for her... she should have finished her first term, at least... but i and others were villified for voicing this as "anti-Palin," which i definitely was not... and she could have said no to McCain... he didn't hurt her by not "letting her" finish her term as governor... she had a choice... she doesn't strike me as someone who is made to do anything she doesn't really want to do... it was too soon--she was not prepared like she could have been if she had waited another 2-6 years...

Not suggesting she isn’t independent, but such an offer suggests the needs of the party depend on it. Not to mention it is a once in a lifetime offer.
