OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Almost a year after Oxnard Unified School District removed Stacie Halas from her classroom for having a porn past, CBS2 and KCAL9 obtained a 48-page document revealing what went on at a closed-door competency hearing.
Halas, 32, admitted she did porn for about nine months before being hired at Haydock Intermediate School in Oxnard.
She told a panel she only took the porn work because of financial hardships. (She appeared in XXX videos under the name Tiffany Six.)
Suraya Fadel, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, said the document revealed Halas not only had money woes of her own — but that she was also helping her parents with their mortgage payments and groceries.
Halas said she earned $1,500 per role and made about $18,000 in all during her tenure with a Simi Valley-based porn company from 2005-2006.
The document also showed while Halas was under investigation from the school district she worried the porn would come to light and cost her her job.
Fadel said she wrote two emails to the company trying to keep her past buried. In one email she wrote, “Please help me. This video has somehow linked to my real name. I have been teaching now for nearly ten years and this is putting me in a situation of losing my job.”
In another email she reportedly wrote, “Please block this video. I am a teacher involved with the school district over this video and this site … I hope that you understand the defamation of my character that this has caused.”
Tuesday, a three-judge panel concluded that the “on-going availability” of her porn material on the internet “will continue to impede her from being an effective teacher and respected colleague” and upheld the decision to fire her from her job as a science teacher.
I only wish that the buyers of the porn industry excrement would also be similarly trashed by the public and forbidden from some jobs..
So you would condemn her to a porn future for the rest of her life? No forgiveness, right?
$1,500 ? These “porn stars” sure don’t make much for an action that can haunt them for the rest of their lives. Chump change.
I like to believe that people can change for the better.
Yes, she now understands that she made a mistake and that the easy money had consequences. However, there still should be jobs within education, assuming that she has changed and that she is good at what she does.
We do have a critical need for science teachers and women to mentor other women in the sciences. (We as a society don't need women to mentor other women in becoming sluts.)
There are other jobs than teaching where it wouldn't compromise her effectiveness.
I doubt that it's retroactive, though, and it's rarely enforced...the few times I've seen it come into play it's been for execs that have a zipper problem, when it comes to their employees.
She has been teaching for ten years?...It’s the school districts fault they did not do an adequate back ground check and where the hells the teachers union? They shuffle child molesting teachers all over the place! I think she gets a good lawyer ans sues the hell out of them! Not guilty!
Maybe Obama will hire her as his Porn Czar.
I don’t see mass firings of child molesting teachers who do a lot worse damage than this!
If she thinks that the NEA constitutes the absolute bottom of the SAT barrel, I’ll hire in a heartbeat to teach.
She can be forgiven for the sex stuff, but one should NEVAH be forgiven for doing any more than f*rting in the general direction of the NEA - the greatest collection of know-nothing idiots in the multiverse.

IIRC it was the kids who were watching porn and found her video.
While I personally agree with the idea of redemption and a second chance, no one is stating the obvious: Now that her past is public, very public, video knowledge, it is impossible for her to maintain any decorum in her classroom, or the respect of her students. Imagine the first time she reprimands a student for turning in a paper late, and the kid responds....(fill in the blanks..)
Oh BS, she has no business being fired. If she was handicapped, minority etc there would be outrage and she would keep her job.
I’m with you. we want these people to go on the strait and narrow and when they do we punish them then. As long as she is not doing porn in the classroom, and that was in her long distant past I could care less.
I am actually thrilled she got away from that lifestyle.
