How many call their Aunt "ant", and how many call her "ohnt"?
It's always been "ant" for me.
ANT — that “augh-nt” thing is too British for my likes...
Ant...definitely...
Ohnt. or Ohntie.
I’m an ant person myself
3rd option: Anty. I called my Aunt Opal Annie Oakley cuz I was young once and thought Annie Oakley was her name.
Hi Jonny! I’m late, late, late! I call my Aunt, “Ant”...never ohnt!
I guess we are running late.
This girl is ADORABLE.
But she isn’t professional grade.
I hope she enjoys the ride (and I think she will). In 3 or 4 years, she might be ready.
ants get fried with a magnifying glass that your AUNT gives you, so you go outside and leave the adults alone :-)
I am in the “AUNT” pile...kinda....I refer to her/ them as “AUNT” whan speaking about “my AUNT”..but when with her/them...and call them by name, it is “Ant”_______
(Hey, no one ever said I could only pick one answer!)
Ant for me....
Born in Philadelphia, where that was more common than other parts of the country where I/we have live where the other was used
I think it is a regional thing. Everyone from around here says “aunt” rhymes with taunt. Now some of my friends from the coasts, and some from the south say “ant”.
Next one—who pronounces the “t” in “often”? I mean besides my husband. But he doesn’t do it all the time. LOL.
Ant
I call my parents’ sisters ‘ants.’ Also, where does Nana come from? Why are some Grandmas called Nana?
