TEL AVIV As he prepares to make his debut on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Sen. Rand Paul says he plans on grilling Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over the attacks that killed four Americans at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, when she testifies at his first committee next week.
"I think she has to accept responsibility for Benghazi," Paul told Business Insider during his recent trip to Israel. "That's the problem with government government is anonymous and so no one is accountable. The reason you want somebody to be accountable is that you don't want someone to make that decision again."
"She needs to be held accountable for it, and I think she needs to answer questions for it," he said.
Paul added that he plans on demanding Clinton explain what she knew about the deteriorating security situation in Libya and provide details about who denied requests for additional security personnel at the consulate in Benghazi.
"In government, there is usually an incentive to overspend when it comes to security," he said. "You're in charge of security in Benghazi and someone asks you for a 16-person detail and the security people on the ground in Libya are asking you for it it's impossible to say no. So how did someone possibly say no to that security? That's an incredible ineptness."
"It was an enormous mistake," he added. "It was a career-ending mistake, I think."

If he gets too rough on her Mitchy will call him down.
To put this into some prospective...it would have been like hiring Billy Martin to manage the Yankees, run the front office, do all the money stuff, and work the stadium agreements. He was one-dimensional...at best. She just thought running the state department meant running off to far-off places and chatting with dimwit foreign elite folks. She’s a one-dimensional manager...at best.
Hopefully the Clinton appearance before Congress will start to fill in the timeline.
Where was clinton when she learned of the attack? What did she do?
Where did she watch the video feed from the compound? Who else was present?
Where was obamma?
What rescue plans were discussed?
and
Who gave what orders concerning the military plans to rescue our men?
In the end, Clinton’s hearing will probably fail to deliver the public retribution that conservatives like Paul have hoped for. Top Senate Republicans have indicated they will go easy on Clinton, who is still recovering from a recent illness and is set to leave the Obama administration later this month anyway.

Oh you hit the nail right on the head! These hearings are most likely not going to make us happy one bit!
It will be a complete joke and it will be W’s fault.
They actually expect her to show up? I’ll believe it when I see it.
All your questions are good and demand answers but we will never receive an answer from Hillery. It will be just a bunch of run around excuses until the questioner’s time is up and that will be that! What a bunch of crap these type of hearings are!
Like the rest of my fellow FReepers, I despair at the declared and undeclared wars against independent thought and critical thinking.
‘Educators’ and our court-eunuch media have shrunk the American intellectual playing field to the size of a tabletop. So be it for now.
Our ADD-addled society has proven to be frighteningly responsive to The Big Lie and to catchphrases. Leftists do love their slogans since it gives them something small and memorable and repeatable (and boy do they repeat them).
For now, we must fight fire with fire and Rand Paul’s choice of words is both apt and implies finality. We should therefore use his phrase as often as possible with the expectation that its repetition will spread and eventually filter into the cultural strata - the places where American Idol is believed to be an oracle for identifying vocal talent and where Hot Topic is viewed as a deliverer of style and taste.
Say it with me:
Benghazi is a career-ender for Hillary.
Benghazi is a career-ender for Hillary.
Benghazi is a career-ender for Hillary.
It will drive the left nuts because it uses their tactics against them. It will drive the media nuts because they planned to spend the next four years burnishing her image. And best of all, it will drive the Clintons nuts - Chelsea included - because it portends the death of their would-be political dynasty.
Benghazi is a career-ender for Hillary.
It can’t be said often enough.
Hillary, with an eye on her own presidency may just rat out Obama. If Bill has anything to say about it she will. They both want back to 1600 Pa. Ave.
Surely you jest.
IF she appears before Congress it will be in her football helmet and she won’t remember anything that happened before 1/8/13.
What are you thinkin’? She has has a concussion and an anyurism.
What do you excpect of this woman? /s
Will Paul, or ANYONE, ask the question,
“Who gave the order to ‘Stand Down’?”
I hope we hear questions such as “What was 0bama doing immediately following notification of the attack”, “Were the 37 survivors evacuated from Benghazi, prisoners?”, “Where are those evacuees now and who are they?”, “Why did you not appear on the Sunday news programs?”, etc..
I get so tired of hearing how experienced and admired she is. In her entire lifetime, someone tell me what she has really excelled at....NOTHING!!!! When she was first lady, she failed at healthcare, as SOS she presided over the handing over of Egypt(an ally) and Libya to the Muslim Brotherhood, culminating in the murder of four people in Libya. She is a total incompetent.

Okay, I admit that I did not go to the link to read the entire article, but just based on what I am seeing here, I am disgusted with his remarks. There is no hint of any sort of dismay at the loss of life that occurred at Benghazi.
Career-ending? It sounds like he is talking about someone just mishandling a large amount of money.
Hopefully the Clinton appearance before Congress will start to fill in the timeline.

Not planning on holding your breath, I trust. I think we should play a drinking game based on how many times she says “ya know” and “I don’t recall”.
I know of four folks that it was even more devastating... it was life ending.
