Glenn Beck Defends Gay Marriage: Republicans Need To ‘Expand Our Own Horizon”
This article you are referencing completely misrepresented the discussion by GB. He was actually agreeing with “Penn” (of “& tellar”) that we would be better off if the government were not involved in marriage at all. He was espousing a more free approach that would actually be empowering to local communities and churches...
I tend to agree that if we removed the government from the discussion of marriage, then we would probably see a strengthening of marriage and a weakening of the marriage attackers!
Marriage is a religous concern, for sure. But also a vital civil issue as well. And more than that - marriage is the foundation of a healthy and productive society. Has been since the ancient Greeks and Romans.
Liberals are dead set on destroying the traditional marriage. From replacing the father with a welfare check to no fault divorces to same-sex marriages and worse. And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the natural results of this; poverty, crime, welfare roles increasing, unemployment, mass murders at schools and on and on we go.
To say that the government should not be involved in marriage is as bad as endorsing LBJ's Great Society programs and B. Hussein's same sex marriage executive orders which are soon to come. The government must be involved in upholding marriage between a man and a woman or face a complete colapse.
OK, so you are OK with the misrepresentation in the article and you have moved on. My point was most regarding the article, however I notice that I failed to make a clear distinction. They were discussing the involvement of the Federal Government in marriage. It is inappropriate and weakens our overall rights.
So. Lets go back to the article. You said... This article you are referencing completely misrepresented the discussion by GB. He was actually agreeing with “Penn” (of “& tellar”) that we would be better off if the government were not involved in marriage at all.
Look. If you are correct, and I assume you are, then Beck is wrong. Completely wrong. As I said in post 83....To say that the government should not be involved in marriage is as bad as endorsing LBJ's Great Society programs and B. Hussein's same sex marriage executive orders which are soon to come.
