MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. The images will be vivid, history will be haunting, ghosts will be everywhere.
This is Knute Rockne versus Bear Bryant, Touchdown Jesus versus Dreamland Bar-B-Que, Four Horsemen versus Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Montana versus Joe Namath, and, of course, in the battle of the little guys, Rudy versus Nick.
It will be a football game bathed in a complicated mess of legend, religion and roughhousing, but most folks think Monday's BCS national championship heavyweight fight between Alabama and Notre Dame can be symbolized by a single disparity.

The Irish over-hype lost a bunch of money. Oh Well.
Damn stupid Alabamans clean up again. Good Grief

Homers rule, Domers drool.
I guess we’re Louisville’s Ohio State. You’re not supposed to call out our faults...
Sorry, I’m still bitter....especially since when Urban left, Charlie Strong was my first choice, considering that IMHO he had more to do with the Gators winning their titles than Meyer did.
I sympathize with that.
We had better get an offense real soon.
And we just lost Brisette....great another transfer that’s probably going to be successful elsewhere.
At least he didn’t get caught stealing a computer.
It wasn’t my prediction. If you note, it was written by the L.A. Times columnist. I was just passing his prediction along.
Obviously we both didn't think it would be anything like '42-14 easy'!
Congrats on your near-perfect accuracy.
Sports are ALWAYS meaningless, that’s why they’re entertaining. Meaningful things tend to be stressful, meaningless relaxing, entertainment is supposed to be relaxing, and therefore meaningless.
You were far closer than I was.
Based on last night, I’d say that ND has both an average defense and an average offense, and the bottom line is that they hit the jackpot this year with their schedule.
That was ugly.
Thanks for noticing.
I had figured that Alabama would score 35 by midway third quarter and that Saban would call off the dogs at that point.
Thought ND would score at least twice but thought Alabama would force them to settle for a field goal on one of those.
Cannot under estimate strength of schedule.
Thanks
