An interesting read on the history of aerospace ... strange to think that NASA's space shuttle program has roots in Nazi Germany's Luftwaffe and plots to destroy America during WWII

Actually, if they had pulled it off we might not be stuck with Michael Bloomberg trying to run things!!

He only plotted; we actually firebombed his cities. Take that, innocent German civilians!

Shades of Pynchon’s great novel “Gravity’s Rainbow!” Wonder if he came across any of this info when he worked as a technical writer at Boeing?

Hmmmm ... yeah. We conquered a big fascist only to have a little fascist pop up in NYC. Ironic!

Another secret document shows Hitler ordered his space plane department to conduct an outreach to Muslims.

The Germans did have the Condor (Fw-200). A long-range reconnaissance and bomber aircraft with a service range of 3560 km.
It would have made a whole lot more sense to upgrade the Condor than to try to make a ANYTHING launched on huge sled attached to a two mile monorail powered by 36 V-2 rocket engines work.

That's the last war we actually won. Bet those "innocents" wish they had stopped him before he launched a war on half the world.

Gee - can we use that logic on Afghanistan or Iraq civilians today?
Why not? Why can't we firebomb and carpet bomb their cities?

It would have worked better for the Japanese. They would have had the earth’s rotation working in their favor.

Kill them till they beg us stop and kill them for a while longer to make sure they get it. Then give them our list of demands. If they want to negotiate, kill them till they unconditionally surrender.

"This awesome, fiery blast would propel the craft forward at a coma- inducing 1,200 miles per hour."
The Silverbird would have been travelling at a jaw-rattling 13,000 miles per hour.
Did the author learn space science from Flash Gordon comic strips?

I am not sure you have that right.
Japan: Earth’s rotation adds to velocity. Good for orbiting a sattelite.
Germany: Earth’s rotation adds to ground speed. Good for reaching a ground target at lower speed/less time.
At least, that’s my take on it.
To: Empire_of_Liberty
By golly, I think you’re correct.

That’s fancy rationalizin. I don’t suppose it matters he never actually launched anything against Western Europe and with us merely said we were at war, though they posed no considerable dire t threat. Oh, aside from a spy or two and transatlantic shipping routes. But blame the Brits as much fir that.
I wonder, in future should some smart aleck say you deserve to die for failing to stop Obama, how would you respond?
