Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s off-air comments that Russian Presidents are given a secret file about extraterrestrials living among us created much media interest. Most news reports claimed that Medvedev was simply joking. His apparent reference to the Men In Black movie as a source of information on a super secret agency that monitors extraterrestrials on Earth was commonly cited as key evidence that he was in fact joking. The reasoning is that no political leader would refer reporters to a comedy to clarify national policy. It has now emerged that Medvedev was not referring to the Men in Black comedy after all, but to a recent Russian television documentary titled “Men in Black” that reveals many details about an extensive cover up of extraterrestrial life visiting Earth.
However, a more accurate translation of what Medvedev actually said about the Men in Black phenomenon was: “You can receive more detailed information having watched the documentary film of the same name.” So Medvedev was referring to a Russian “documentary film” titled Men in Black, not the Hollywood blockbuster by the same name...
Russian Men In Black (MIB) documentary, a number of prominent UFO cases in Russia and the USA are discussed. The Roswell UFO crash is covered, along with a number of extraterrestrial abduction cases, and UFOs disabling nuclear weapons facilities. The documentary examines testimony that extraterrestrial bases have been established on Earth, and that some are in restricted US military areas with the full knowledge of the Pentagon. The documentary even goes on to seriously discuss President Eisenhower’s alleged meeting with extraterrestrials, where agreements were reached with some of the visitors giving them permission to take some of the Earth’s resources in exchange for advanced technology...

Oops—that’s for a 12 oz. jar. Nutella is in the same neighborhood. Are they taxed heavily to protect the Canadian nut interests or something?
What’s the average length of stay in hospital for a new mom nowadays? It’s been so long....
Tonight, my daughter told me she is expecting to stay in the hospital “overnight”.
I was blown away. It’s seems having a baby is treated almost as an outpatient procedure nowadays. I was kept in hospital for 5 days with her, and 3 days, five years later, with my son.
One day? 24-36 hours? It’s new to me.
Many things are treated as outpatient procedures. They count on the patient’s having a responsible adult at home who can cart her back to the hospital if necessary.

If you live close enough to be transported in the event of an emergency, you could be better off not going at all.
Though homes are not entirely sanitary, they are cleaner in regard to certain stubborn strains of potential infection. Many people are opting for the lower cost and lower stress levels of home birth.
To be completely candid in the matter, I am a product of home birth, so obviously it can have its complications and negative consequences, too.
She probably won’t need the laxative until a couple of days after the baby is born, if at all. The bowels tend to purge early in labor!
I take a CD player and CDs (usually recorded lectures). Most people have iThingies, but I’m not that modern ;-). It helps to pass the time when my hands are occupied and I can’t read.
Extra blankets, depending on how helpful your hospital staff is.
Extra set of pajamas: sometimes one sweats buckets a few hours after delivery. Definitely remember the skin lotion - dry skin is almost instantaneous.
If nothing goes wrong, 18 to 24 hours is a reasonable stay, especially if she’s not going home to a madding crowd. I was home less than 24 hours after Bill was born in 1994: I put my sweatsuit on, shuffled down to the business office, signed off everything, and off we went. That was one of the less-nice hospitals. At some of them, I would have happily stayed two weeks, if they’d let me!

Wanted to talk about the boating accident but I'm too saddened by the losses.
fanfan, Grandchildren are a Great Blessing. The love shared is the love received. I have pleasant memories of being in the delivery room with spouse when our last child was born. Then shortly after-wards came Grandchildren. Grandchildren are more fun ... well just a little more fun than ones own little ones. Grandchildren are easier to raise. If anything goes wrong, one can blame the parents. Bringing in a Grandchild for a visit is great. Doing special activities with a Grandchild is even better than great. Hearing one of the parents say ... “You never let me get away with that” is priceless.
When we would visit my grandmother in Missouri, she would often say, “Oh, let them do it!” about something Anoreth or Bill had in mind, and Dad would say, “You didn’t say that to me!”
Boating accident?
Nutella is cheap here. Under $3 a jar at Walmart. Would it be considered contraband if I sent you a couple of jars? Would it be confiscated at the border? Would customs inspect it repeatedly until only the empty jars made it to your address?

yep, been there twice or three times. The accident was dreadful. When finally made it back to shore, there were people unable to contain themselves. Had to ask the people observing from the shore to be quiet. They could have given away our position. The shock of the cold water was terrible enough, but the losses of hardware and tools was dreadful. Will be writing out detailed confirmations for two or more weeks regarding the losses. If had been able to save just one, it would have been worth it but the boat went down too. If hadn’t been for the other boater, Lord knows may not be speaking or typing. It’s the paperwork that is going to the problem though. Will take several weeks. Next time I go for a boat ride, am taking nobody to stand guard on the shoreline. Loose lips and all, ya know.
I have always had my pets spayed and/or neutered. Mostly because I always kept them indoors. But outdoor animals need it as well.
They won’t be too frisky until the third day, no matter what the vet sez...You will know when to let them out. :o]
My sister was in the hospital less than a day with her first one. I don’t know about the others, because she and I had married and moved in opposite directions.
Unless there are complications, it’s not unusual for a 24-48 hour stay. Mostly, they just want to make sure everything is healing properly.
Sorry to hear about any loss. I'm hoping you don't mean people, but I'm afraid you do.
