You must have a bunch of friends at church, based upon the responses here from the people who know you. I really want to encourage you to lean upon your church at this time.
They must have a system to help volunteers run errands, and take care of kids, and get back and forth. It sounds like you could use the help.
Lots of people have a hard time asking their church support group for help when they need it, but that is what church groups are there for!!
Good luck.
Prayers going up!
I had a compression fracture in 2011. Had to have surgery because the vertebrae continued to compress. TONS OF PAIN. lived on percoset, then after surgery vicoden. UGH, what a long recovery I am still having pain but it is getting slowly more tolerable. NOT to have surgery would have been worse in my case.
Thanks for your understanding and prayers.
Thank you so much. God Bless you
Our church recently closed up....so we had to find a new one. The one we go to now is a bigger church (not “TV” big, but big. We haven’t made many friends there. I needed help getting my daughter to GED classes and it took 3 days for them to find her a ride that would get her there for the next week, but she had to find another way home. When I was released from the hospital, the neighbor and her church brought me a few meals to help out, our own church didn’t bring anything, though they did visit me every day I was in church
The reason I chose that church though...when I was not able to attend a service, they had a few people who could get my kids to church and home. Unfortunately, I think that’s the limits of their “help” system.
Thank you so much.
I understand the pain you had and though you still have some pain, I’m glad it’s getting better.
I just need mine to get better so I can get back to work, and be able to do more of my usual duties at the house. My kids are having to be walked through the process of cooking the meals, my son is so much help with the laundry and most other duties. He’s 12...and he does sooooooooo much.
Is it usual to have hitches and glitches at the surgical site? It’s painful to turn over at night, it hurts to stand. I use one of those rubber donut shaped sitting things...it feels good to have the cushion, but I’m not so sure it’s doing the job I expected it to do. I just want to be normal again...able to work and able to get off the heavy meds. I need a job, I need to be able to contribute to the house finances...and I’m afraid to go out looking since I don’t have insurance. I do lots online, but when called in for an interview, it’s scary when you pass an officer every 2 or 3 blocks!
After years of wearing a body brace in my teens, it was simple for me to learn not to bend over — because I couldn’t . You squat down or hold on to something and get on your knees.
Pretty much stick to that today even though I’m older than the ages; however; lol -— I do bend over and touch my toes ever so often just because I can.
Still praying for you Trussell.
A blessed New Year to you.
Though the thought is appreciated, I don’t have the ability to do at least MOST of those. I don’t have a phone that I can use to do the phone jobs, I don’t have the background or the necessary qualifications to do many of the others, I don’t have the training for even more of the others. I wish I could work from home...it would be ideal.
Thank you so much for all the prayers and good thoughts. I went to the doctor and xrays today. The xrays show that I HAVE NOT hurt the surgical site. The continued pain is a concern to them so they are having me go to 12 weeks of physical therapy. They believe the physical therapy will be able to help me get the correct back brace and will also help me get the new tens unit. They believe the therapist will be able to strengthen the muscles and lower the pain level so the meds can be lowered also. I have to find a way to get to 12 weeks of physical therapy now. Somehow, I have to believe, God will see me through this Thank you again for prayers and good thoughts. They truly are appreciated.
I understand the concept of doing it just because you can, and look forward to that myself again some day soon. I’m glad you recovered from your injury which required the body brace. That sounds miserable!
Thank you for the update. I’m keeping you in my prayers. God bless you T.
Dear TR,
Great news! I’m praying for you daily. God Bless!
Prayers for God’s blessings for a good outcome.
You may want to get an Obama phone (http://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphillipserb/2012/09/28/crazy-for-obama-phones-but-are-they-for-real/ ) and look at taking orders/reservations for LLBean, LandsEnd or UHaul, etc.
If you’ve ever ordered something over the phone; you can do these jobs.
I’m hoping you get well soon and I won’t forget to pray for you, Trussell.
Prayers are still up!
