My Daughters cat just died. Expired from Natural causes as near as I can deturmine, I went to pet him and he was starting to stiffen up.
He was a good cat, black as Satan with a propencity to open closed doors. She is heart broken.

Go out as soon as is reasonable and get a shelter cat. There are a lot of great animals out there for adoption and many already have their front claws removed. Both of our current cats are shelter cats and they are the best of pets.

Sorry to hear that. It is nice to know that one was loved so much. Cats can be very loving and devoted.

You’ve got to focus on the cat going to heaven and make it a positive thing. GET ANOTHER CAT as soon as she is ready for it.. The ONE thing that eases the pain of losing a pet is to GET ANOTHER PET TO LOVE AND BECOME PART OF THE FAMILY!!!
To: Little Bill
Sorry to hear that. How old was he?
Don’t declaw the new cat unless you absolutely have too. I have found that cats love to sharpen their claws on closed cell foam.
My black as Satan cat used to open closed doors too. I would come home from work and and find all the cupboard doors open that he could get too.

Very sad. Our cat is Wolfie, we love her a lot. Can imagine how your daughter feels. Assure her that there is a dog and cat heaven and her kitty is there and it’s really nice there.

Declawed? That doesn’t mean removing the claws, but the amputation of the last joint of the toes. Much kinder, if a new cat also figures out how to open closed doors, to replace the doorknobs.

My condolences. Cats are simply awesome animals.

So sorry. A beloved pet’s death is heartbreaking. Time heals all wounds.....I hope she gets through the worst of it quickly.

My heart cries for both of you. Do you know about the "Rainbow Bridge"? RAINBOW BRIDGE By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done. For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day. No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued. They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack. For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last. The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over
together.

As was I! I generally get accused terminating cats with extreme prejudice but not in this case. He was big and fat, warm and furry, a good cat, with amber eyes and good manners.

Always very sad. A new kitten will help....

So sorry for your loss..please honor your pet’s life by giving shelter to another cat in desperate need of a good family. Take care.
To: Little Bill
Very sorry to hear that. Dittos that getting a rescue cat (or two) soon will ease the pain.
