Republican House Speaker John Boehner said on Thursday that he would take any recommendations from Vice President Joe Bidens anti-gun violence commission under advisementbut stopped well short of committing to allow the House of Representatives to vote on gun-control measures.
When asked at a press conference if he would permit the House to vote on proposals from Bidens commission, which began work on Thursday and is expected to unveil its advice in January, he said: Well certainly take them into consideration. We join the president in mourning the victims of that horrible tragedy in Connecticut. When asked again, he said they will take them under "advisement."
Biden's commission is also expected to look at other ideas, such as increasing access to mental health care, and look at the place of violence in American popular culture. But, for now at least, Boehner's comments suggest that traditional gun-control proposals aren't going anywhere.

I would prefer that. such an order would be illegal and nobody could be compelled to follow it.
I tend to agree. He’s flirting with disaster by allowing this situation develop as it is. It would be much healthier for everyone if he just dumped a pale of water on this fire.
It will be interesting to publish the names of every senator and representative who votes in favor of any violation of our Second Amendment, including any such violation in any irrelevant bill. It will be interesting to publish it a thousand times.

Rest assured, the names will be published. The anti-2nd Amendment politicians can hide in their leftist enclaves, but those in flyover country will feel the repercussions of their idiocy.
He tried playing Rino bigfoot after the election and smashed his own head with bullying conservatives and managing to propose a budget rejected by his own side.
He needs to go. He can’t communicate a popular point of view nor coordinate a message for the public to hear. We don’t need four years of evil versus stupid.
Here is the thing.
If you look at the polling data, a lot of the so called 1% are liberal. The only object to having to pay more money for their own policies.
The GOP is going to the mattresses to protect them, and that isn’t playing very well with the rest of the nation. In two years, when the adds come back out, how do you think that will play?
The GOP has been turning its back on social conservatives for some time now. Look at Newt saying that we need to “accept” gay marriage. They are doing so to build a coalition of voters. Yet they are actively killing that coalition by chasing the the carrot Obama is laying out right off the cliff.
If they want to win again, which I honestly doubt, the GOP needs to decided which group of voters will help them more. They have decided to jettison their social conservative base, and are looking to stab gun owners in the back. That leaves those who make over $500,000, who they are willing to crash the government to protect.
How many votes are those?
I think they don't know enough about statistical analysis to understand what's happened.
Then they need to go. Now. Or a new party needs to arise.
And quick.
With any luck that POS won’t controlling anything in the House after Jan 3rd.
I wouldn’t mind bring some of this stuff up for a vote. It would be GREAT to see the Dems in competitive districts have to go on the record...and nothing will pass anyway.
time for Boehner bashing again ?
Merry Christmas
Oh, I think he should have some votes. Lets get some democrats on record as voting to ban semiautomatic rifles!
he will cave and give o whatever he wants
