Why nothing on the fireman shooting in NY. All the usual suspects,MSNBC,CNN void of any or little coverage. Could it be because the shooter was a certified wack job and the system released him after slaying his G Mom with a hammer. Could it be all the weapons were possibly purchased legally and if so with his past history he never should have been allowed to be near a fire arm or a hammer. Any opins/
She didn’t take him in. The mother did and when she died he snapped
These men bear some of the moral guilt for the murders of the firemen.
I'm having trouble swallowing his friend's story that he loved his mother...hated his sister...because he beat his grandmother to death with a hammer. The guy loves no one.
And I'd check on the friend....cons hang with cons.
And the guns....we are surprised why??
Bad people have guns and kill people.
Good people have guns but don't kill people. Got it !!
Our police chief is noticeably angry that this guy was set ever free. We all feel the same. THE SYSTEM IS WRONG. LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE...OR THE NEEDLE.
There was a plea deal....Manslaughter instead of Murder 1....the difference being (as the general point) premeditation. I’m sure they will dig up all the old articles.
Hence my quotes around "hunting."
Absolutely....
From the NBC story posted on another thread:
“Police would not say what kinds of guns Spengler used, but as a convicted felon,he could not legally own firearms.”
I wonder WHERE and HOW he got the weapon(s)?
Maybe that’s one of the reasons for the lack of coverage....
We have not even heard the name of the wife (probably ex.)in the local media.
It appears that neither the sister or his mother had any interest in the property.
Neither the mother nor the sister appear to have any interest in the property. So he took THEM in.
I got this ALL wrong....His father was also william and his mother was Arline who died a short while ago. William JR, the killer, owned nothing that I can find.
Back in the 1960s and 1970s firemen would not go into certain areas of cities because they were being shot at when they responded to a fire.
Is’nt it time we recognize this threat to our first respoonders for what it is?
Fire department response personnel are mobile ‘firearm free zones’?

Police said Spengler was using a Bushmaster .223-caliber rifle the same gun as used by the gunman in the Newtown massacre. He was also armed with a .38 revolver and a shotgun.
These men bear some of the moral guilt for the murders of the firemen.
Let us not leave out the most guilty of all, the defense lawyers and their firms, who get those that they know are guilty lighter sentences or even entirely off.
Not to diminish the issue, but... Doesn’t this happen every year on OCT 30 throughout Detroit?
An actual Bushmaster, or do reporters just call every AR pattern rifle a Bushmaster now? A felon would not be allowed to own or possess one regardless.
And a felon would not be able to own a firearm. True...And that's the point....Tighter gun laws are useless. Felons friend's are felons...they'll get you whatever you want for bucks.
And that was the point of fast and furious...our oh so clever plot to infiltrate the firearms black market. How'd that work out again??
Christmas in rural Iowa has seen this headlined in every local newscast as well as on HLN.
