Yes.....I think the prospect felt by the followers there upon seeing a bunch of heavily armed ATFers with M-16s at their door was that their prognosis was not good.
Unfortunately, in the ensuing melee, those ATFers got their asses handed to them on a platter by a whole cache of converted AR-15s. This day, and the day years early all hinged on the ‘image’ in my opinion.
The final ‘image’ of that whole eff-up being a tank attacking the compound and setting it afire, killing nearly all the men, women and children within.
I would be p*ssed if I were at point and the guys (#3 and #4) behind me had their guns pointed at my head.....

I agree, I’m just playing devils advocate. I get irritated seeing police gear up thinking their seal team 6 raiding grandma’s house on christmas.
I only got 13 right.
Then I started looking at the faces, and the backgrounds, and i did better towards the end.

Pic #1 - Maybe I’m over-thinking it, but wouldn’t it be fairly easy to make crossing that threshold the most painful, nightmarish, please-let-it-all-stop experience these gentlemen ever experienced?
I got 19 out of 21. Generally I looked for digital camo on soldiers and guns on their vehicles. The two I missed were one group of soldiers in non-camo uniforms, and the cop on an APC with an M60 machine gun (what’s up with that?).
Yep, this trend is very disturbing.
