Always listen to your Mama....(!)
Interesting, thanks.
Except now my gran will start saying, ‘yes, I was right about the soup and so is steeped garlic and lemons juice’.
“soup could help alleviate respiratory tract inflammation that results in feeling bunged-up.”
“Bunged-up?” Ask Barney Frank about that!
Yes, it’s true!
In what must be the only funny thing I ever heard Lib
Garrison Keillor say, chicken soup doesn’t work very well
when you make it yourself, for yourself-—you have to have
someone BRING IT TO YOU, you have to have a “chicken-soup
provider”.
(And I caught a flu or cold or something from someone at work Friday afternoon, still down for the count today. It's bad that I am too tired to FReep consistently during a vacation week.) Thanks, Olog-hai.
Cheers!
...oh, and Merry Christmas.
The sweet young thing was the oooold man’s birthday present.
She asked him if he would like some super sex.
He said “I’ll take the soup.”
The result is that the water in the pan turns into something that tastes just like chicken soup!
We then pull out the bones and strain it a couple of times to make sure we got all that gunky stuff (from the carcass) out of the mix. Then we toss in some potatoes and carrots and boil for another hour or so. The flavor in this "soup" is pretty intense and just as good, if not better, than the chicken soup made by Campbells or Progresso.
You can also do the same trick with turkey.
Interesting post. Friday I was diagnosed with pneumonia. On Saturday, a kind neighbor brought chicken soup. I ate it as hot as possible, and with a lot of pepper. An hour later, I felt great. Sadly, it only lasted about 12 hours, so I’ll see the doc tomorrow morning.
My dad used to tell about the mustard plasters his parents used to give the kids. It sounds disgusting and smelly, but effective. Might be something to consider.
