At least one group, called Defense Distributed, is claiming to have created downloadable weapon parts that can be built using the increasingly popular new-generation of printer that utilizes plastics and other materials to create 3-D objects with moving parts. University of Texas law student Cody Wilson, the 24-year-old “Wiki Weapons” project leader, says the group last month test fired a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle—one of the weapon types used in the Connecticut elementary school massacre—which was built with some key parts created on a 3-D printer. Right now, most people interested in 3-D printing rent time on one. There are a number of businesses and co-ops in major cities that allow access to the machines for a nominal fee. At 24, my husband and I had been married for 4 years and had two children. My husband was a sergeant in the army with an associates degree.
A 24 year old is a grown man who’s perfectly capable of making intelligent decisions and understanding the second amendment.
Childhood keeps getting redefined older and older by the left; they love immaturity since it gives them an excuse to dictate.
I just did some research on the 3D printer idea, and found out they are not as expensive as most people think, but if you even consider making anything other than very small plastic parts you do need a very big machine.
I may actually buy one for an at home seller of small scale reproduction parts for hobbyists.
With a machine like this I can make a near perfect small scale replica of any firearm, who wouldn’t want a foot long model of a Ma Deuce or a Dillon 134?

It conjurers images of stupid highschool boys playing around in their parents’ basement rather than serious men actually working toward a purpose.
My FRiend I must have a stack of old Brownell catalogs a couple of feet high by now, my main source of parts and illustrations. Being a hobbyist gunsmith and machinist I have concepts of assault rifles and battle rifles that will be on my workbench in the future.
Its when you get into the small precision engineered plastics is where you can make money or being able to make molds for castings. And castings are very important, its a long bit of labor to machine something by hand, harder yet to duplicate that without a CAD CNC mill.
Definitely worth investing into because I have a feeling Obama will try to regulate these 3D machines severely.
I’m not happy that it was the weapon of choice either, I own a few, however that was the case.

In the school shooting, Connecticut Chief Medical Examiner H. Wayne Carver said all 26 victims were hit multiple times, suffering “devastating” wounds, all apparently traced to the rifle.

Lanza, 20, fired a Bushmaster .223 semiautomatic rifle to kill many of the 20 children and six adults at the school Friday, Connecticut State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance said. He used a Glock 10-millimeter handgun to shoot himself in the head. He also carried at Sig Sauer pistol. A shotgun, the type of which was not identified, was found in the trunk of Lanza’s car outside the school.
“The Bushmaster was used in the school, in its entirety, and [a] handgun was used to take his own life,” Vance said.
I can buy one for $1500 and up, even on Amazon which is notorious for NOT selling gun parts.
I have a modest HO train collection, I could easily make my own small scale parts like air horns, signals even small cars, maybe now I can make a complete set of aircraft for my 1/350 scale Enterpise that actually look decent.
