July 18, 2013 --
It was the worst of times for the American gun-owners throughout the nation. The Firearms Safety and Registration Act of 2013 required all Americans to register their firearms and explosives by July 1, 2013. Failure to do so, violators will be punished with up to ten years of prison and up to $10,000 charge for each infraction. Only 1/3 of the estimated weapons held by Americans have been registered thus far.
As a result, Federal Agents were everywhere, and they were bent on keeping the unruly citizens in line. The prominent Federal higher-ups in Washington D.C. were worried that the Americans would take up arms and fight for their right to think and believe what they wanted and to permit themselves to keep their firearms if they chose to do so. As a result, they were forced to take action.......
I found a PDF copy FYI.
Oh yeah, Im borrowing that for sure!
(if you dont mind, that is)
Ten years ago that was a realistic enough scenario; where an aging warrior who had faced down the SS in western Europe would make one last stand for freedom. Now, even the youngest WWII vets who are still around are most likely at an age where they don't do much driving, and aren't in much of a position to take the desperate action they might have 10 years ago.
I wonder how much the national zeitgeist, and willingness to submit to tyranny is a direct reflection of their dwindling numbers. Even more than that, I wonder how much that figures into the calculations of those who would tyrannize us.
Mr. Bracken’s novels are sounding eerily similar to our current national debate.
If you haven’t read them, you should.
Please, by all means! Let it go viral.
Actually, I am Mr. B.
“As a result, Federal Agents were everywhere, and they were bent on keeping the unruly citizens in line.”
They have families and friends. They have their own lives to think about. This will not end well for FedGov.
15,000 IRS agents to enforce Obamacare.
How many for the gun laws?
The cultural memory is literally dying.
That's why I create these little meme images.
Not enough.
I’m not giving in to Obamacare mandates and I am not giving up my guns. Whatever happens, happens.
Nice to meet you and thanks for the books.
My post was more for 3rd parties, but the FR interface requires that I reply to someone...
Note, I'm not talking about the U.S. Military.
I don’t disagree with your take. I’m speaking for myself. I’m fortunate enough to be surrounded by people who expect me to do the right thing.
People will simply hide their guns, that is all.
As I had said in a previous posting, people will hide their guns so the feds will not know. This is a prediction.
Matt Bracken's books are well worth reading, too, if you haven't.
