I wish to purchase an FN-FAL and an AR-15, and I would like to do so with a fellow freeper who can accept payments over a period of months. There would be no delivery of the firearm until the payments are completed.

I just do. So I can go to the range. If there is a later confiscation, well, you know how those tragic boating accidents are.
He lives in Georgia, like me. He’s talking about having a receipt that is dated now (or when he makes the deal) so that he can show a date he obtained it before any ban. Georgia does not register weapons.

Well, no. The lower receiver, cause it has the serial number, is considered the firearm and all paper work to buy the receiver is the same as buying the whole weapon. The time you buy the parts needed to finish the ar, you can pretty much purchase a less expensive weapon like the S&W, which is a fine weapon regardless of price.
But, if you choose to build, it is a great way to get to know your rifle.
That was my thought as well, but after a quick glance at my favorite resource, it might be harder than you think.

There is no registration for such firearms in the state of Georgia at this time.
We all need to work on keeping it that way.
You’re plain outright rude. You should take it somewhere else if you’re feeling all uppitty....
Another option is to build your own AR overtime by buying lower and upper receivers and other parts. The lower receiver has the serial number which would go through an FFL when you purchase it.
