sounds great!
Excellent point but..... they still have to eat something and we don’t have any cats. ;^)
The roller derby queen song reminds me of another nonsense song about skating from my missspent youth-
“I rode my bicycle past your window last night
I roller skated to your door at daylight
It almost seems like you’re avoiding me
I’m okay alone, but you got something I need
Well, I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key
I think that we should get together and try them out you see
I been looking around awhile
You got something for me
Oh! I got a brand new pair of roller skates
You got a brand new key”...
That's what I thought they called the creature that washed up a few weeks ago?
We had some skates when I was little. Metal contraptions that fit onto the outside of whatever shoes you happened to be wearing.
No World Market around here, but I need one of those things-I’m guessing I can find it on the net.
I made dog biscuits for Husky girl several times-the most recent was last week, from yet another healthy recipe-she would not have anything to do with them so I gave them to my neighbor who has a Mastiff and a Poodle-Poodle ate them, Mastiff took one sniff and turned away-apparently, the Poodle has a taste for healthy treats while my Husky and the Mastiff prefer nice, fat filled, processed store bought treats...
I have a bone shaped cookie cutter and dog cookie recipes but no time this year!
So do I! (love Jim Croce)
When he died in a plane crash, they announced it over the loud speaker at my daughter’s Jr. High in Stafford, TX, and everyone had a big, group cry.
Just had a nice conversation with a lady waiting for coffee at Starbucks. I’m at the mall as xsbaby is getting her hair cut. I’m
Wearing a Christmas sweater and she asked where I got it. I said I’ve had it for years that I got it at Nordstrom probably 15 yrs ago. She said you can’t find them anywhere any more. I have several from all the years of being a room mom but it is true you don’t see them any more. We talked about the secularization of society etc. don’t know if she was conservative but she agreed with everything I said and we wished each other merry Christmas before leaving.
I’ve used those, but after much begging, my parents bought me some shoe skates, and I was at the rink every Saturday from the age of 12, learning to dance on them to my favorite rock tunes. That fad lasted a couple of years, but when my 1st husband and I went skating with our daughter, I fell on my ass so many times I lost count...
I got one of the recipes from you-they smelled damn good to me, but not to the dog.
I went roller skating with my daughter a year or so ago. It comes back to you. I don’t try dancing on them. And I don’t end up with blisters like when we ice skate.
I’m sure everyone loves Jim Croce, except for xs. I have one of his LPs at home.
I’ve only been ice skating a couple of times, when living up north, but that was years ago. There isn’t a skating rink within 45 miles of here, roller or ice.
I have most of his work on CD. But my son in law (raised in Philly) has a recording of everything he ever wrote. The early stuff is not so good. But, once he developed his particular sound, everything he wrote was catchy and memorable. I think that he was one of the best lyricists and tune and rythm meisters in the business. I often wonder where he’d be if he had lived longer. One of my favorites:
