No surprise to me. Ken has suffered from “white liberal guilt” for years. Just look at how he turned his “Baseball” series into “A History Of The Negro Leagues”.
Do not purchase any Burns-related videos. Do not act, in any way, so as to cause one further penny to flow into Burns’s pockets. And of course, strip PBS of taxpayer funds, but we already know that.

Virtually unknown about this case is this:
Most relatives of the unjustly accused who came to court were told numerous times that they would be KILLED.
Black people who attended the trial saw this as justice, and they would tell them to their faces, and not in whispers. They would sometimes also tell the victims their addresses in order to induce more fear.
The judge was aware of it and simply did NOTHING.
And the media would not report it.
Ken Burns, having done an admirable job on the War Between the States (yes, his title was the Civil War), then went on to other subjects, jazz, baseball.
Along the way he desperately wanted some male hormones and tried to be more “manly” it seems, with growing a scraggly pre-pubescent beard of sorts.

KC Johnson’s incredibly documented and cross referenced blog points out that the lacrosse players were charged and indicted for over 11 months, not a “few weeks” and that Duke settled with the falsely accused, and they are still pursuing a case against the Durham city PD and the city itself— which is trying to wriggle off the hook in what can only be described as ridiculous means— including one of the Appeals Circuit judge who was a law partner with Doug Wilder (he the former gov. of VA) who sides with the said stripper, blackmailer and now...on trial for murdering her pimp. Nice place Durham— there is a school there I think.... they play basketball.
One can only imagine the “outrage” Burns would express against Zimmerman for “murdering” Trayvon Martin— this is HOW people think.
BTW, KC Johnson has a book titled “Until Proven Innocent” that is excellent, on the Duke lacrosse/ stripper case. There actually are people trying to get the prosecutor’s law license back— having lied about evidence to the judge in the case— amazing. It’s like OJ in reverse.
