BEAVER FALLS -- A dispute over a cigarette was apparently the reason a Beaver Falls woman was shot to death outside her home Saturday afternoon.
Three teenage boys from Beaver Falls have been charged in the death of Kayla Peterson, 22, of 516 13th St. They are: Marcus Velasquez, also known as Marcus Cleckley, 14, of 2409 Seventh Ave.; Todavia Cleckley, 14, of 70 Harmony Dwellings; and Kyle Goosby Jr., 13, of 109 11th St.
William Bailey, 28, said just after 3 p.m. he had walked to Js News on Seventh Avenue to buy cigarettes, and as he left the store a group of three boys began to follow him and ask for a cigarette. Bailey said he ignored the boys, and they followed him the entire way to Petersons house.
I didnt look at them. I didnt acknowledge them, Bailey said. He said the boys yelled at him, used foul language and got progressively louder.
When Bailey arrived at the house, he said Peterson, who was his fiancé, came out and said to the group of boys, Why dont you guys get a job. He said she also told them to quit running the streets.
Thats when one of the teens pulled out a gun, Bailey said. He said when Goosby saw the gun he ran. He didnt want any part of that, Bailey said.

They also include deaths from housefires where the cause of the fire was believed to have been a cigarette.
Seriously.
There is an important tactical lesson here.
It is an increasingly common m.o. of “group thugs”, to approach a single person and for *one* of them to engage the person with some conversation, like asking for a cigarette or spare change. This is a ruse.
The others will circle or partially circle their victim, then a different one will try to punch them out. No matter what happens, the rest of the group will then began punching and kicking them, even if they are unconscious.
The tactical response to this is several things, based on the situation.
1) If armed, immediately “confirm” your weapon is ready.
2) Put distance between yourself and the group, not just an individual. Think “group attack”.
3) Do not let yourself be encircled or your path blocked. If they try, brandish your weapon, and escape immediately. If you cannot, brandish and back into a doorway or against a wall so you cannot be attacked from behind.
4) Start yelling, use obscenities, racial epithets, and threats, because they make it clear to attackers and witnesses that you mean business.
5) Select which targets you will defend against in which order, starting with the most aggressive. Typically the more cowardly ones will run away, reducing your targets.
Important note: This is just one aggressive technique being used. Others give little or no warning, so you must be situationally aware.
Some others include a single individual rapidly approaching from behind to hit you on the head with a blunt object; a “purse snatch” type running attack where appear to be running past you, but hit you while passing; and a “wilding mob” that are walking and running in a direction, and looking for targets of opportunity.
My ex was a serious alcoholic, sick for years, organs were failing, weighed barely 100 lbs when he died. He also happened to smoke. The death certiicate showed smoking as his cause of death.

Beaver Falls Pennsylvania....Sounds so quaint and picturesque.
Get out of smalls towns while you still can!
No, it was the toxic mix of a gun with a cigarette.
Raise taxes on both and let the kid go; he’s suffered enough.
Why dont you guys get a job.
An obvious threat in Obamerica.
