It's currently 79°F in the Hill Country, and I've been busy covering all my sensitive plants (radish, peppers, tomato, papaya, pineapple) and moving the potted plants indoors or in protected area's. Yesterdays weather forecast a temperature drop to 26°F by Tuesday. I still need to buy some more covers for the loquat trees.
The freeze will kill off the last of the okra, and hopefully make the peanuts easier to harvest.

Nothing growing up here in Michigan except my Egyptian walking onions. They’ll have green shoots all through the winter. Those of you unfamiliar just google it. They root incredibly deep and stay alive all through the winter. I always have green onions and the older ones get almost as large as leeks. In the summer they form clove heads at the top that can be used for propagation or peeled and used like shallots. They do spread like crazy and have given away many clumps over the years.
