Why not just do a mandatory retirement for everyone over 66. This is ridiculous. Where I work, it is like working in a geriatric facility. Time to go and let the young folks run the joint. The older folks made the mess, let’s allow the younger folks take a stab at fixing it. All I here at work is, no. This is the way it always is done.....ugh! No wonder we are in a mess.
As screwed up as the economy is, most people will need to try to hold on to their jobs until they drop dead.
Why do you think all the Wal*mart door greeters are over 70? Do you think they do it because they love people so much?
I had my Tonsils pulled at Glendale Adventist Hospital 40+ years ago. My home town! The food sucked at the Hospital by the way.
Most companies are budgeted for the year, after Jan 1st when companies make their new budget for the new year is when the really big lay offs will start.
Wow...hope you don your flame retardment suit...
Yeah, I understand. It is just shocking and sad to see all these companies listed. 2013 is going to be bad.
On the dailyjobcuts site, it also lists closing separately and there are a lot of them. That web site is going to be really busy in January.
I’ve been sharing the numbers with leftists. It drives them insane. I then tell them the private sector is doing fine, right???
Holy crap. Why don’t you put about all the companies hiring or is talking about the companies downsizing more exciting. I think you need to be fair and mention both.
Better yet, deny those old farts medical care so they die sooner. /s
lol. Well that is a thought..../sarc. Seriously, my grandparents retired at 60 although he worked for Coca Cola so I am sure he was union before I had any idea it was such a bad thing. My parents were not union but saved and saved for retirement because they had a goal of retiring at age 65. They are 67 now and really enjoy living in Pennsylvania in the Summer and Florida in the WInter. They also get to travel to my brother, sister and myself though the year. It is ridiculous for people to have worked 40+ years and not be able to get their act together enough to retire. What fun is working until you die? I don’t get it. I am going to retire at 62 and I have been planning this since 18!!!! I have 19 years to go and I can’t wait!!!!! Once I get to 62, I will be happy to allow the youngins to take over.
However, you asked for a posting of who is hiring. The dailyjobcuts.com site has that, two. Here is the the numbers for the day I posted and a few days before and after.
Dec 2 , 2012
Phoenix Packaging in Dublin + 100
Phoenix Packaging Operations LLC + 100
Dec 1 , 2012
(none, zero, nada)Nov 30 , 2012
Schaeffler Group USA Inc. + 190
IBM New Ohio Analytic Center + 500
Nov 29 , 2012
ADT Corp. FL + 120
Dart Container Corp Mason MI. + 325
What do you think? Do these numbers significantly offset the layoffs?
Wow. Not at all. Such a shame. Maybe the economy will be back in 2017 once we can get rid of Obama finally.....we cannot have another Democrat though. Although big push should be Senate 2014.
