Make sure you have documentation your insurance will cover the brace?

I realize you "need" the job but it sounds like you faked your way through the process and your employer will expect you do be in better shape than you really are. This is not a good position to have put either of you in.

Be thankful you have insurance and a landlord who would let you have months of 'free rent' that you can pay back. Many have neither.

I would appreciate prayers for forgiveness for any words I might have said that were not Christian in nature and also for the bad thoughts I have towards...

I'm the last person to advise anyone about something like this, but, since this is what I'm doing, it's not hypocritical to suggest you also follow Jesus' advice about how to pray by saying the Lord's prayer.

There is one simple part that covers what you are asking for and also lets us in on the secret of how things work:

"Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us."

That's the deal. That's a big part of the secret.

For what it's worth, years ago I stumbled upon a book on how to meditate. The author suggested that instead of a mantra, say the Lord's Prayer slowly and methodically as you would a mantra.

The author felt that not only is the meaning of great value, the rhythm, pentameter, wording, etc. was perfect for use as a meditation.

You can also use the individual letters of the Hebrew alphabet, depending on your purpose and intent.
