I do not think that Glück is going to last in his position for much longer.

Isn’t that a matter between the priest and the church isn’t it? The reasons those who want to change the rules use in the arguments are totally bogus of course.

1 Timothy 4 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer. And decreeing "oh, you can marry, but then we won't let you serve God beyond this line" is still forbidding marriage.

Even though vocations are low in many western countries. The reason for few ordinations is not due to the issue of celibacy.
The issue is rather fathers, mothers, and pastors who don’t seriously suggest to young unmarried men that they might have a vocation.
It is actually a duty of Catholics to recognize when someone could make a good priest, and tell him.

Why not? They have been turning a blind eye to priests having sex with boys for decades.

1st Corinthians 7:9.
I'm ok with single, celibate, and sane. Best (and least dramatic) decade of my life.

What is “the Central Committee for Catholics”? The article calls it a “lay organization,” but does not explain further.
It sounds curiously similar to the Central Committee of any Communist state.

Why not? They have been turning a blind eye to priests having sex with boys for decades. first of all, your statement is both asinine and incorrect.
the incedence of child molestation is FAR greater in the protestant denominations, scouts, and public schools than in the Catholic church.
while it certainly was not handled well in the church, they have certainly made great strides to overcome the problem.
Also, it was basically homosexuality, not child molestation, that plagued the church...chicken hawks!!

“Let priests have sex”? Given the number of homosexuals in the priestly ranks it would seem they do already.
And with a long history of concubinage they always have.

There are lots of married African priests and bishops. The church just looks the other way.
