Latinos Spending 3 Times as Much as the Average Shopper

They are not only the fastest growing population in the country, but Latinos are also spending 3 times more at the super market than everyone else.

With more than $1 trillion in purchasing power, Latino consumers like Arlette Mendoza are gaining the attention of big name brands.

“I personally like it," said the mother of two. "I think it's good that everyone else is discovering just how good our food is."

Cereal companies, including General Mills are using flavors like Dulce de Leche with the hope of appealing to the growing Latino consumer.

Richie Matthews is President of DIÁLOGO, a national public relations agency that services brands targeting the Hispanic market.

He says with Latinos making up a third of San Diego's population, several companies are using the area as a test market. “The brands are positioning themselves so that they not only incorporate more market share but so they're relevant and I think that's the name of the game for any consumer brand,” said Matthews.

He also says the Latino market is craving nostalgic cultural flavors like lime, chili, and Latin infused coffee just to name a few.

So now when you go to the grocery store you will see more Latino flavors spread out beyond the ethnic food aisle to the mainstream.

Mexicans do not come to the US, whether legally or not, to collect welfare. They come here for jobs and a better life for their tight-knit families. What an utter pile of B.S. A significant number are receiving some sort of government assistance. Do you deny our Federal government has been advertising for years in Mexico about how to go about getting government assistance?

Keep driving that wedge between whites and Hispanics and we’ll never see any of that vote back.

What utter an utter arrogant and insulting comment on your part. Do you not understand perspective? The left on all fronts on a daily basis are telling the people that Conservatives are racists, that they are essentially the devil.

The left has marched through out institutions and are daily playing the Alinksy playbook against us.

I have relatives of Cuban descent who listen to Spainish television -- they stated that in the past year the message has been a relentless attack on Republicans and how Obama is "their hope." They are disgusted over the coverage.

With all this you attempt lay further blame on a frustrated Freeper. It is the height of hubris.

Your mindset is most often found at the DUmp, (likely your true home -- with your Anti Liberty comrades).

Abortion had nothing to do with the Catholic/democrat efforts to replace America with third world people by changing the immigration laws in 1965.

The election of JFK was the end of America, Vietnam, the 60s, LBJ, government unions, and the fatal pill of immigration.

“However, if there is one man who can take the most credit for the 1965 act, it is John F. Kennedy.

Kennedy seems to have inherited the resentment his father Joseph felt as an outsider in Boston’s WASP aristocracy. He voted against the McCarran-Walter Act of 1952, and supported various refugee acts throughout the 1950s.

In 1958 he wrote a book, A Nation of Immigrants, which attacked the quota system as illogical and without purpose, and the book served as Kennedy’s blueprint for immigration reform after he became president in 1960.

In the summer of 1963, Kennedy sent Congress a proposal calling for the elimination of the national origins quota system. He wanted immigrants admitted on the basis of family reunification and needed skills, without regard to national origin.

After his assassination in November, his brother Robert took up the cause of immigration reform, calling it JFK’s legacy. In the forward to a revised edition of A Nation of Immigrants, issued in 1964 to gain support for the new law, he wrote, “I know of no cause which President Kennedy championed more warmly than the improvement of our immigration policies.”

Sold as a memorial to JFK, there was very little opposition to what became known as the Immigration Act of 1965.”

Strikes me as a bizarre and racist (for real) comment.

Some of the Hispanics we know are going through a phase with their family incomes up where they need the “best of everything” now. Neighborhood, vehicles, clothes, even choice of prestigious medical clinics. Well, they can afford it. One major problem is that they do ZERO saving for a rainy day. There’s always unemployment and entitlements, but not to maintain the house and car payments they have now.

Must be nice to spend other peoples' money.

I don’t care how they great are ... what good is it if it’s going to crash our economy? Our country is being stolen from us.

I don't care how great they are, either. It's irrelevant. They could be the most beautiful, brilliant people in the world, but I still don't want them sneaking across our borders and changing our language and culture.

At least the Native Americans fought for their land. They didn't say, "Oh, these settlers are so much more advanced than we are, goody, goody, let's let them take over!" They fought, and lost. But we're not even fighting! We're letting illegals take over and we're even babbling about what wonderful people they are. Maybe we deserve to be overtaken.

I read it and did NOT at all conclude what you did. Your comment is what I expect for anti-Conservative slime form the DUmp.

Take your anti-Conservative, racist-accusing comments and go to the DUmp.

Good grief.

So, can I get “SSI” if I’m married and have an income from a retired husband?

What the heck...I could get at *least* 30 people here to testify that I’m ‘crazy’.

:)

LOL. whatever. I cannot begin to understand what reasoning you used to reach you conclusions. But hey, non sequiturs are the in thing it seems with many.

A rational conclusion would be that you are another fake conservative who wants to make Free Republic a place to be mocked. Is the DUmp where your heart lies? :)

Whoa, pal...
I was THANKING you for coming to my defense when Steve86 called me a racist....
My post to you was sarcastic and in support of you when he could only respond to you by implying you were a newbie.
I’m tired of pointing out how quickly we are losing our country to those who refuse to speak English, refuse to contribute to society and take from those who do....and then being called a racist for these opinions...
I thought you felt the same way as you came to my defense...

I don’t know about the abortion rate, but I think your other claims are pretty false. The birth rate of Mexico is just a tiny bit above the U.S., and at the current rate, it will be at the European rate, far below the U.S., very soon. Mexico’s population will be contracting very soon. My understanding is the Hispanics in the U.S. have the same birth rate as U.S. people in general. Do you have any statistics that contradict this?

Mexico had a birth rate about 6, probably as recently as the 60s, but U.S.-based organizations starting then, undertook many efforts to reduce that. Now many women are sterilized in the hospital after their first birth, with or without their consent.

So amazing...I used to enjoy shopping at Potomac Mills when we lived in No VA, quite a few years ago...went there abt three years ago to do some shopping for number one and only son and was stunned at the change! The place was packed with loitering Hispanics, all at the food court and walking around, didn’t see much buying. I’ll never go there again because of the rudeness, non-shoppers, loitering, etc.
I visit a relative in Ventura, CA every now and then and expect this in the Walmart but cripes! No VA was a shock...

**

It’s been this way for a while. We arrived here in 2003 with the military transferring us here. I was shocked when I got here — but it’s only gotten worse. As I said, they just swarm the place. What I hate is shopping around and hearing all of the different languages ..NO ONE speaks English!! And they are constantly carrying gobs of shopping bags out of there ..it’s the place they go to buy up the store and i guess send it back home or whatever they do. I don’t understand WHERE they all coming from. All I know is if I want to go there, I go early, on a weekday. NEVER on a weekend ...

I apologize. I completely misread your post! I am very sorry. I was distracted while I was doing all that. Any way, I will try and be more careful!

I was coming to your defense and didn't realize you were writing about someone and and not my post. Sorry again.

I totally understand, my FRiend...you were awfully nice to come to my defense and I inarticulately came to yours!
Steve86 was way out of line in his comment...calls of racism are not needed on this forum...and he could only defend himself by calling you a newbie...total crap!
Happy Thanksgiving and thanks again....
