I know they are all getting expensive but what is a good, entry level AR 15?

A basic Rock River model will set you back less than a grand. I have one and love it.

Go to gunbroker.com Type in AR 15 in the search box and go from there. All types of selections and prices with overall info to help you get started. Like an ebay but for weapons and other gear listed also. Hope it helps.

My neighbor just bought two of them (his ‘n hers) with extra mags, double strap back packs, a couple of add on parts and 100 rnds for $1,500.

AR-15 made by DPMS, (Panther Arms) purchased at Wal-Mart is less than $600 about 2 months ago.

what is a good, entry level AR 15?

Save some dough on the unit and ammo and get yourself a nice Ruger Mini-14 tactical. Verrry nice little carbine. Uses .223 ammo which isn't that far off from 5.56 and it is very customizable as well as being purty dang good as a stand off weapon for about half the price of an AR-15.
