The pros and cons of a diet including meat may be the subject of debate for nutritionists, but one Indian school textbook has made its position very clear – eating meat will make you lie, steal and commit sex crimes. The unusual moral guidance appeared in a school book for 11-year-olds, supposedly offering education on issues from health and hygiene to sex education and exercise, Indian news channel NDTV reported.
On a page about non-vegetarians, the book said that they ‘easily cheat, tell lies, they forget promises, they are dishonest and tell bad words, steal, fight and turn to violence and commit sex crimes’.
It also claimed that 'it is the waste products which largely produce the flavour of meat', and praised the Japanese for their vegetarian diet, failing to mention their love of seafood.
The book’s marriage advice was also questionable, suggesting women should find a husband between the ages of 18 and 25.
'To get married without a bad name is a dream of every young girl,' it said.
NDTV said the text was published by printing company S Chand, while the chief of India’s Central Board for Secondary Education said books were chosen by individual schools and not monitored for content.

How about all the stuff in the veggies though? Aside from growing all your own organic vegetable from verified non GMO seed sources, we are pretty much bombarded by these agents and can’t do much about it.

There are excellent reasons to be a vegetarian, but none of these is one of them.

A vegetarian diet turns you into a compulsive liar
That is not “nn-vegs”.... that is “liberals” dude
I disagree.
Hitler was a vegetarian teetotalling nonsmoker.
Go figure.
If someone is aware of how to balance a vegetarian diet so they still have an intake of nutritional elements which most people derive from meat or other animal sources then it can be healthy. But it's my personal observation that most western vegans are surly, weak, listless, pale and sunken eyed, and in some cases resemble recently released concentration camp survivors. They are not what I'd describe as "healthy".
We may be primates but that doesn't mean we have the same digestive track and nutritional needs as the (other) great apes. Plus, even chimpanzees, our closest cousins, hunt and eat meat when the opportunity presents itself. I think it usually comes down to someone taking a moral stand that the killing of anything with a brain and big brown eyes (broccoli noticeably lacks both) is wrong.
It’s a fake moral stand.
Millions, if not billions, of innocent creatures are killing during farming. Whether insects, rodents, or deer, animals are slaughtered to grow vegetables and produce. This idea that somehow living a vegan lifestyle saves animals and is somehow superior is a total crock and those that push it are foolishly ignorant and or total liars.
Eat what you want, i dont care, just dont let it give you some false sense of superiority.
And the down-side is?

Not just discuss it, but MAKE YOU believe what they believe, or else
In the case of communists the “or else” is that they will actually kill you for not agreeing with them
