Coming into Saturday, Oregon and Kansas State had the inside track to college footballs national championship and the Southeastern Conferences run of six straight BCS titles was in jeopardy.
Then No. 2 K-State got thumped 52-24 by unranked Baylor and top-ranked Oregon fell in overtime to No. 14 Stanford, 17-14.
Now the SEC is alive and well.
And hows this for a possible national title game: Alabama vs. Notre Dame.

You forgot to add A&M to your list! We are SECnow, and acting like it!
I’m good with that because I think A&M would get a BCS bowl game.
The SEC was definitely a case of the “haves” and “have nots”, some usual SEC powers had real bad years, like Auburn, Tennessee, and Arkansas.....but Vandy looks like they may actually be player now for the near future.
Let’s see...what’s coming up....
Florida - Florida State
South Carolina - Clemson
Georgia - Georgia Tech
You were saying?
VERY pretty :)
Too bad the women’s bball team had their streak snapped last night, though.
I lost all my respect for Notre Dame when their sorry-ass coach forced that poor kid to sacrifice his life up in that cherry picker in gale force winds to film his stupid team. I hope they get their asses kicked.
Do you think Manziel will get the Heisman? I’m an Aggie, so I’m biased.
I know Klein looks like he is out. I’m curious about the defense player from Notre Dame. (Forgot his name).
Anyway, this has been a fun football year for us Aggies. (More fun for me because my son is a freshman at A&M.)
The point is, only the SEC is scheduling out-of-conference powderpuffs at the end of the season. These SEC “wins” are figuring heavily in the voter’s minds when the rankings mean so much more than at the beginning of the season.
‘Rond the bowl, down the hole, ROLL TIDE! ;)
There ain't no "powderpuffs" in a schedule like that.
Can we somehow get the president picked by a football game?
I think the republicans need to talk to the SEC coaches and team players to learn the secret to winning.
Naa, I don’t think so.
Here’s the new Coaches Poll:

ND, ALA, GEO, ORE, FL ST, FLA, LSU.
“GO BLUE”
GO BLOW!
Buckeyes are 11-0
I would agree that there should be more non-traditional out of conference games for the SEC.....I noted that the last time Florida played a regular season non-conference game out of state (meaning not against FSU or Miami) was in 1992!
My idea is to reserve two weekends and have a random drawing of teams from different conferences that will play each other in the following season, based on their previous years’ ranking.....Say if you ended in the Top 32, you would then play two non-conference games the following year against randomly drawn teams that also finished in the Top 32, one at home, the other would be on the road.
While Saban repeatedly denied any interest in the Alabama position, it was disclosed that Sabans agent was working out an eight-year, $32M agreement during the past week or so. Many loyal Dolphin fans are expressing anger with Sabans actions calling them despicable and dishonest.
Great role model. :)
Yeah, but Oregon got a gift on the following drive with that ridiculous pass interference call on third down. Stanford probably wins the game in regulation if Oregon was forced to punt there.
