I live in deep blue California and have a getaway place in Arizona. Everything’s cheaper in Arizona and they’re a red state. If I can avoid buying something until I make a run to the river pad, that’s what I’ll do. Support the red state and starve the blue as much as feasible.

And a FReeper mentioned on another thread recently about compiling a list of businesses that are pro-conservative. Whether they sell the info or share it for free, we should all support the effort by providing info on businesses that we feel are worth supporting. If conservative businesses outpace the general market it’ll be a real good thing.

The Mrs. and I do something similar: avoid spending money in deep blue cities.

We'll sightsee in San Francisco once or twice a year, but make a point to avoid spending money there. Don't book a motel there, dine in the suburbs.
