Very soothing song. Thanks. My day just crashed. The 5th grader I tutor has mislead me (lied?) about the due date of his SS project. We would have had it done last night, but he insisted he had to do it in school. I was skeptical...he had early dismissal and guess what? It WAS due today. I am going with his mother to his parent teacher conference in a few mintutes. I am not expecting it to go well. (sigh) I think his mother will cry. He will be punished. All preventable. I am getting discouraged.
The misery factor. Yes that’s a great way to put it.
Well the weeping was bad Tuesday night, easy to tear up on Wednesday, no tears on Thursday, Friday,,,well just the general overall feeling of doom. There’s a nice short easy word for us all, doom.
I will post everyday, just to keep my tagline countdown number correct.
Told the hubby I want to pull all our money out of the stock market this morning. He just looked at me like I’m from Mars. Seems to have no worries at all. Total denial of what is ahead.
Cliff, meet Markets. Push......ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Splat.
That is a great idea. A ray of sunshine.
Some boys really need extra help staying organized. Most of the ones I know have had that problem. I hope she doesn’t cry. That doesn’t solve anything. He needs consequences for this, which will be the failure, not the end of the world for a 5th grader, and an organizer to prevent it from happening again.
I’ve sctually seen that word before-
Obama mistakenly thinks
He’s been given a tool
By getting re-elected-
It won’t help his rule
He also got an ultimatum
And that’s not good at all-
His tool isn’t worth ambsace
And he’s set up for a big fall
The ultimatum is “fix this”-
He has no one left to blame
We are sick of enpty promises
And tired of playing this game
I think it is a fitting ultimatum-you broke it. Fix it. Now.
Huh-just heard that Gen. Petraeus resigned on account of an affair? Isn’t that convenient-the wheels on the bus go round and round...
What a disappointment Patraeus is.

Actually, his conference was great. His grades in all subjects are up. He is reading below grade level, but has improved that since school started. Math is now one of his best subjects, instead of near failing grades from last year. I learned that they no longer teach printing and cursive writing, so I will undertake that. The teacher said the parents are told to do it at home, but alas, that was never done. I had them practice today with dry erase books for it that I had bought. I will have to get the cursive ones and let them try that. Loved his teachers, they were great. I can now picture him at school. I skipped the conference for the younger brother. My DH came home to stay with the boys while we went.
I have to laugh, his mom was all tarted up in high heeled boots with fringe down the side, skin tight jeans....OMGosh. She is nearly 40 and dresses like a single girl slut. We ran into the mother of another student and she looked like a normal mom, I noticed her check out the getup. Oh, well. She does love her boys and they are sweet.
