LAS VEGAS (CBS Las Vegas) A Las Vegas business owner with 114 employees fired 22 workers today, apparently as a direct result of President Obamas re-election.
David (he asked to remain anonymous for obvious reasons) told Host Kevin Wall on 100.5 KXNT that elections have consequences and that at the end of the day, I need to survive.
Heres an excerpt from the interview. Click the audio tab below to hear even more from this compelling conversation:
Ive done my share of educating my employees. I never tell them which way to vote. I believe in the free system we have, I believe in the right to choose who they want to be president, but I did explain as a business owner that I have always put my employees first. I always made sure that when I went without a paycheck that [I] made sure they were paid. And I explained that I always put them first and unfortunately Im at a point where Im being forced to have to worry about me and my family now and a business that I built from just me to 114 employees.
I explained to them a month ago that if Obama gets in office that the regulations for Obamacare are gonna hurt our business, and Im gonna have to make provisions to make sure I have enough money to cover the payroll taxes, the additional health care Im gonna have to do, and I explained that to them and I said you do what you feel like in your heart you need to do, but Im just letting you know as a warning this is things I have to think of as a business owner.

Where’s the discrimination? If you warn employees there may be layoffs due to government policies and you make layoffs... This is a defensible business decision. If you can’t afford ObamaCare, he can’t afford ObamaCare and he had to do what he had to do.
Do you have any pointers to offer? I’m sometimes involved in the hiring process. My supervisor is a conservative and he might be willing to consider any suggestions that wouldn’t be illegal. (State government employees)
Yeah, but we kept 0bama in president and got us a 0bamaphone!
Atlas Shrugs??
If some of them are women, their gender discrimination suit goes down the tubes if there were men fired as well.
Run their names through the FEC donor Data base and see what comes up.
Thoughts on that? (As an employer I'm quite interested)
“Cadillac Plans”, the usual PPO type plans, are to be taxed at $8,000 a person, I do believe.
Gosh I love Free Republic, genius, pure geniuses on here.
Whatever happened to 40 hours being “full time”? Further proof that this is all just modeled after the European mess. they moved to 30 hour work-weeks years ago. Helped them economically, didn’t it...
If hiring employees is such a drain, then why did he hire them in the first place? The way he expresses himself makes me wonder if he understands anything.
“Do you have any pointers to offer?”
Just be subtle and don’t look like you slipped the question intentionally. I’ll give a very few of our Q’s to aspiring applicants:
1) What do you think of the economy, and if you were president, how would you fix it?
or
at the last minute, what do you think of the United States of America? (liberals hate America so this is an important question, even though it stunned a lot of our interviewees, this is the question you should ask)
then..
what do you think of obama? (this is THE question to ask. Libs cannot stop talking about this idiot)
Were they SEIU? God I’d have loved that!
Not necessarily - if he has 10 of 114 women and fires five of the 10 (50%) and only fires 17 of the 94 men then you’ve got a case - as well as the fact that there are some areas in Obamacare (which is the law) which they could say because they were women they were fired.
Dumb butt will be sued out of business and everyone will be getting free Obamaphones. He should have kept his mouth shut.
