Talk about secession all you like, but there isn't going to be a Civil War.

I'm seeing a lot of comments today along the lines of, " The red states should consider secession", and "Civil War 2 is coming".

To those saying such things: I can only hope that you're self-aware enough to realize that you're simply venting. There isn't the slightest chance that the US is going to break up in the next 4 years because of the re-election of Obama.

On the off-chance I'm wrong, please contact me in advance of your attack on Fort Sumter.

Problem is, the bad guys have a prohibitive advantage in firepower, plus air supremacy.

That might not be the case, depending on what form a civil war would take. If it's like the Spanish Civil War, the military could side with the Right, which would probably include a majority of the country's firearms owners.

[ Talk about secession all you like, but there isn’t going to be a Civil War. ]

Ok OK we’ll just call it a Gorilla Action.. Uprising.. Unrest.. like that..
It worked pretty well for Vo Nguyen Giap in Vietnam..
And MAo in China.. were all pretty successful..

BUT be advised pissed off Americans are far more educated and creative than 3rd world Vietnamese farmers.. and capable of much more mayhem.. I’m not against using the term “The Wolverine Party”...

Joey I suggest getting more creative, get out of your box..
Obviously voting DOES NOT WORK.. very quickly this will dawn like an epiphany to many..
When it DOES... other options will display themselves.. NATURALLY..

The democrats massive voter fraud just may be americas water in the face or FACE SLAPP..
Which will make obvious “what needs to be done”..
AND VOTING is not “IT”...

Wise up grasshopper...

Most combat aircraft are made in the South.

As are the spare parts necessary to maintain them. And the latest generation of combat aircraft are REALLY high-maintenance.

Obama won the election by 2.6 million votes. Gary Johnson received 1.2 million votes. I doubt that Ron Paul's total vote count in the GOP primaries approached Obama's victory margin, as the Texas congressman received an average of 8-10% of primary voters.

The numbers of libertarian voters would have been insufficient to win any state even if the Johnson and/or Paul supporters all voted for Romney. Only in Florida would the combined third party totals have exceeded the Obama lead. Insofar as the third party candidates included the Green Party candidate, Jill Stern and left wing actress Roseanne Barr, it is unlikely that all these votes would have gone to Romney.

Well, until individual nuts who can’t take it anymore start shooting federal parasites and Obama voters.

Then comes the absurd crackdown.

THEN comes the revolution.

I agree with your dad. We need to demand a 32 hour work week. When Obamacare kicks in and we’re all off our employer health care plans, there isn’t any reason to work 40 hours anymore.

Add me to the list. I have already spoken about this to the wife and my kids. Other than preparing for the collapse and what is needed for day to day survival, there will be no other ‘donations’ to the economy from my household.

>>>Bunch of yankees thought the same thing 150 years or so ago.<<<

Not only that, but if not for the moral issue of slavery, I doubt the people of the North would have had the political will to sacrifice so much blood and treasure to prevent the Southern states from seceding.

I don’t think most Liberal/Socialists want patriotic, God-fearing, Pro-Life, gun owning, Capitalist, conservatives to have any influence over their lives, any more than we want the reverse.

If we had a better candidate, instead of the flip-flopping, RINO, the establishment nominated, we could have won and the Liberals/Socialists would be talking about splitting up the USA. A split would be in the perceived interest of both sides and the actual, best interest of conservatives.

I think, at some point, an amicable divorce might be worked out.

The geography also works out well. The “Red” states are all contiguous, and if we ceded a narrow strip on the Candadian border, cutting through Montana, North Dakota and a tiny piece of Idaho, and a similar strip through Arizona, on the Mexican border (which would double as a great illegal alien buffer zone), the “Blue” states would all accessible by road, without crossing any “Red” states.

It’s a divorce made in heaven, IMHO.

Military infrastructure wise I think the South and mid - west stacks up nicely against the NE - West coast alliance.

The fact that 10% (at least) of Republicans are idiots shouldn't come as a revelation...

Thanks for letting us all know that you're in your own group.

Why was this stupid vanity posted?

The history of catastrophic national change reminds us that at some point there is a cusp, and after that it happens very, very quickly. In 1984, Reagan released one of the most effective foreign policy political commercials of all time "There's a Bear in the Woods." No American would have predicted then nearly five years to the day after his reelection, the Berlin Wall would crumble, and within just a few more years, the Soviet Union.

The European House of cards is about to come crashing down. The debt crisis and slowing growth that very few people know about in China has the potential to have catastrophic impact in Asia. If Israel needs to resort to nuclear weapons to destroy Iran's program, or if Iran achieves a nuclear weapon, there is no good economic scenario for the West. None of this touches on our own debt issues, nor on the unemployment picture which is about to head drastically North. The Q4 survey of employers says that they nearly ALL intend to lay people off, virtually no one plans new hiring. That was true before yesterday. It will be more true tomorrow.

The point is: your idiotic "prediction" is predicated on a belief in stability that can vanish literally overnight, and a country as nearly equally and bitterly divided as ours may not be able to weather that storm.

You appear to be unaware that the map is already largely drawn along lines of conflict. This election was decided in a handful of "border states" where about 350,000 total votes would have completely changed the electoral college. In most of the other states, one way or the other, the Presidential contest was not competitive. That is not a recipe for national success or continued unity.

And if, as now seems very likely, 0bama decides to make large changes on the basis of nothing that even remotely resembles a mandate through executive orders, the fractures will only grow. Four years is a very long time. Making idiotic predictions in order to wave the bloody shirt in the face of your political adversaries may be satisfying to you, but it is foolish, even for a manifest charter-member of the 10%.

IBTZ.

Here's another scenario for an 1860's-style secession crisis that could happen a few years down the road:

With the support of radical groups such as MEChA, California elects a militant Chicano activist to the state house. Meanwhile, Arizona and Nevada also have elected militant activist Mexican-American governors, as has New Mexico, and Mexican-Americans dominate their legislatures. Soon California, Arizona and New Mexico announce that they are seceding to form a new Spanish-speaking country that will be called Aztlán.

A provisional government is formed in Los Angeles and announces that it is taking over all federal facilities, including military bases. It demands that all US government officials and military personnel depart from the territory of the new nation-state.

The United Nations General Assembly votes overwhelmingly to recognize the new nation and support its demands. Cuba and Venezuela immediately grant Aztlán diplomatic recognition, followed by nearly all Latin American countries. Cuba and Venezuela offer military support, Mexico announces that volunteers are heading north to defend the new nation, while Russia and China caution Washington against doing anything "rash."

Who is saying four years? These things take time to build momentum. Do you honestly think we can undo the nanny state and heavy regulations through the ballot box? Do you think a country as politically polarized as ours can hold? A split is inevitable, I just hope it’s a peaceful one.

Regardless of the margins, people blaming Johnson are pretending that the votes would have gone to our guy had he not been in the race. No, they wouldn’t. People who vote for Greens, Constitutionalists and Libertarians are so disillusioned with the major parties that they’d rather stay home than vote for our guy. Nobody “stole” any votes from us.

Actually you are wrong. You just fail to realize what form the Civil War will take.

It will be a "shadow war" akin to an Ayn Rand scenario.

The "producers" are going to limit the "looters" access to the fruits of their labor.
