(Still no electricity in my neighborhood. But slowly some businesses are opening up.)

..north and west Jersey is higher elevation... we dealt with the heavy rains, winds and fallen trees. The southern part had that, and the flooding, the surge was devastating....
We up north are dealing with the power problem, the people of the shore area don’t have anything to bring power back to...

Don't really consider SW Pennsylvania to be northeast. I consider us to be the fusion of northeast elitist, polite midwestern and laid-back southern redneck culture.

However, we did get a lot of water, a lot of rain and some wind. Flooding in low-lying areas, scattered outages when the inevitable tree branches break and hit the lines, leaking roofs and the like-- but nothing major.

We're a relatively hearty lot here and not too many pantywaists who sit around waiting for a government rescue, but a few.
