I could do pull ups when I was a 14 year old girl, many moons ago, but chin ups were easier.
Political Correctness force people to fear confirming these biological facts and thus enabling the deaths of untold numbers (or should I say “unreported?”) from emergency situations that demand upper body strength to address—situations firemen, policemen and male soldiers are best equipped to address.
If you cannot do at least several pull-ups you are too handicapped to rescue heavy bodies from fires, subdue and arrest aggressive criminals or survive hand to hand combat (there are,of course, very very very few exceptions).
Sexual political correctness is a benighted biological premise that makes people rise to a fantasy potential with deadly results.
LOL!!! Well!!
Guys can’t hold a baby on their hips, so THERE!
Funny story....
Some background....My middle daughter was a Level 10 gymnast when she was 12 and colleges were watching her then for their NCAA programs....She was going “Elite” which is Olympic level when she turned 15 but we decided against it....
Fast forward to when she was 16, she is drop dead gourgeous, the kind of girl guys just stop whatever they’re doing and stare at....
At the same time, my oldest daughter is a Zoomie at the Air Force Academy and we fly out to visit her as a family. She takes us on a tour of the Academy grounds and buildings when we stop by the gym. As we look around, we notice one of the areas has a series of chin-up bars with were occupied by about 20 guys working out.
All of them stopped for a moment when they saw my middle daughter and stared, then they started grunting out mutliple pullups as too “impress”
My older daughter (the Zoomie) immediately noticed this and since she knew several of them called out a following challenge; “ I bet my little sister can beat all of you in pull-ups” Needless to say they took the challenge and the best of them banged out 22 pull-ups. They felt secure in their masculinity and ability.
My middle daughter then jumped up and grabbed the bar. She quickly did 15 chin-ups with perfect form then pretended to struggle to reach 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, then she hung there for a second to tease them and quickly went to 21, 22, 23....until she hit 40. At that point she put her legs in a full pike position and continued to 50 when she quit. She appeared to be able to do many more had she wanted to...
I’ve never seen such a collective group of dejected boys.....LOL
Bfl
My kids are losers, but I don’t care - they’re still smart.
I saw girl once who did 47 pullups. She could actually do more but she was embarrassing us guys and thought better of it.
I only made it to 38 and thought I was hot stuff as I bested the other guys.
Chin ups I could do in my more vital youth, a fair number of them.
I could never handle much weight in a bench prtess, either.
I could do as much as any of the other lads could (weight-wise and stamina-wise) regarding any normal lifting requirement. I hit for average with relatively few home runs. Also, lack of great speed pushed me more toward the middle of the offensive line in football, although I could pass a football (and throw a baseball) with the same or better end result than most of the other lads.
I believe there was something about the way my arm and back muscles grew that made these "over hand" efforts more difficult.
For that matter, I found the lasses with the same percent of body fat as the really lean lads to be less attractive than the lasses populationg the more normal ranges. My wife belonged in the more "normal" subset, although she was quite athletic. Such is life.
Pull ups are not needed to be in the kitchen cooking.
Yea, it’s sarcasm. Lighten up.
Nope, they sure can't.
I stopped doing pull-ups after my socks got stretched out of shape.....
Pull-Ups are critical.
At the tender age of 61+, I pride myself on my ability to meet or exceed every military entrance physical requirement.
Most guys my age, if they’re not already dead, claim that my ability to do at least 10 pull-ups, is attributed to my low weight - not a lot of weight to pull up. They can’t even do one - correctly.
Stay in shape men. You never know when you - or your country - will need you !
And women, stay in shape too. I don’t care if you can’t do any Pull-Ups, just stay in Shape...
Hah. Not only could I do pull ups, I did the iron cross when I was 13.
