Disney has done well with Marvel, so this might not be such a bad idea. We’ll see.
Ugh...not another one.
That’s pretty much my take on it. I just hope Disney tones down their usual Nazi-like adherence to IP for Star Wars and let the fans maintain their devotion in many ways (fan edits and the like).
Indeed, I would LOVE for them to do the series with the Admiral and the blue-skinned crazy Jedi. That was a great series. What was the Admiral’s name? (Not Ackbar, people).

Except the Thrawn Trilogy used Luke, Leia, and Solo extensively. I can’t imagine any of those actors coming back to reprise their roles.
However, they do have to use Thrawn in whatever series they do. He’s just too awesome a villain not to use him.
There’s also the Knights of the Old Republic series (video games and comic books). Excellent stories.
Plus with no union issues to worry about, some real established talent could be brought in to make these movies.
Your intense hatred of the prequels and your tagline lead me to believe that you’re Harry S. Plinkett....
Oh, darn.
I’ll have to miss it because I’m busy 2015.
Admiral Thrawn?
Cause he was blue-skinned, and Mara Jade was a decidedly crazy Jedi without blue skin.

Star Wars: Teen Love Edition
Star Wars: Muppets
Heh!
I fully expect RedLetterMedia to make a video of Harry S. Plinkett losing it upon hearing this news, and trashing his house in rage.
murdered to death
lol!
Grammar finally died after a long lingering illness.
Disney overpaid.
All they get are the characters. The right to make Star Wars VII? After the last three were so awful? Xers won’t get fooled again, and Gen Y doesn’t care. There’s no audience for VII.
So what else do they get in buying Lucasfilm? Industrial Light & Magic? Don’t think so; separate company. Skywalker Ranch? Will Lucas let go of that?
The character merchandising rights? Did Lucas give them up or only split?
Bad incomplete reporting, but right now sounds like Disney waaaaaaay overpaid.
It will be a story about a down and out space family living on a small asteroid, devoid of human contact for many years. This family, consisting of a space miner, his extremely stupid son, a beautiful step daughter, and their crotchety grandmother. Upon finding an extrememly rare deposit of Trilithium nuggets, the space miner and family find themselves living in the luxury of a space mansion with all the amenities.
That’s right... The Return Of The Jed.
Star Wars: In the Original Konglish (with subtitles)
Jar Jar battles enemies on Korea World
That was my first thought, too.
Can it suck any worse than the last three....or first three.....or somethin'...
I expect Disney to do for Star Wars exactly what it did for John Carter, make it a bloated boring mess.
Not that Lucas really needed any help with that.
