Please disregard my last post. I misread your post. Also, my post was directed at the one who started this thread...

I briefly considered that others would consider this an act of G*d, then I realized it was just China playing with their weather machine again.

It’s a planet. It’s got weather. Storms are just part of the deal.

These are not comparable...good grief...these storms occur annually...and that’s the way it is....

It will be interesting when we find out how much of it was a choice. That we limited ourselves and didn’t celebrate all of it.

Entirely too Calvinistic a reading and I would just bet the other day you were down on Mourdock, the Republican candidate for Senator from Indiana.
He's pretty Calvinistic you know ~ and so are you ~ INCREDIBLE.
When Matthew refers to rain, he's really saying that anyone inside a field is affected by the field. What he didn't say, but which is really Calvinistic, is there are those who are OUTSIDE THE FIELD ~ and you can recognize them (the truly saved) by their behavior. On the other hand Matthew is also saying that rain usually doesn't make decisions on who to drop on, but if you think about it Matthew didn't have the tools at hand to test the hypothesis.
So, which is it ~ is Matthew speaking as a scientist, a climatologist, or maybe as a religious commenter and teacher?
So many questions; so little time!

The reprobate mind given by God in Romans 1 is one of the things imparted by God on all ungodliness and unrighteousness to a society under judgment, making no note of political affiliation. You can see that in the anger and hatred of those responding here.
It is difficult to, once having delivered the message of judgment, to go and sit under a gourd and see what the society will do. Be patient. You have fulfilled your responsibility. Others have endured the anger and wrath of those who have been warned.

Ordinarily God works in ordinary ways. But He is still in them. I have no doubt that God will be at work in even extraordinary ways during this storm...there will be the miracles of survival afterwards as there almost always is. Many will experience the power of Nature and Nature’s God. God will be shown I am confident.
But, can you defend your position that ordinary nature is outside of the mastery of God?
To: Dogbert41
This is a perfect example of the irrationality of religion. What evidence is there that this is some kind of punishment and not just a natural occurrence.

If we were under judgement the whole country would be destroyed. I suspect Sandy will be worse for Obama than anything else.
