Your prayers are humbly requested for one of our long-time FReepers, Salamander and her new puppy Halla.
Halla is six weeks old and by rights should still be with her mother. Salamander had to take her and rescue her from an incompetent breeder who had let her get worms along with some serious other problems.
The pup was not eating, shaking and may have some neurological damage. The vets have confirmed a cranial injury, but do not yet know how severe.
A moment out of your busy day (or night) to offer up a word to The Lord for both Sal and Halla would be appreciated. Thanks so very much!
“”And a big thank you to God for creating four legged friends for us.””
Amen. We learn so much from them.
Prayers lifting.
Tatt
I join in prayer for this little puppy.
A special ring in Hell for people who abuse animals or children.
Amen.
Can you leave food down for her at night? Kibble soaked in goat's milk is a great "jump start" - and if you can't get fresh goat's milk, it's available in powdered form.
Prayers for this beautiful little girl, and for you.
A huge amen to that.
Prayers up for Halla’s (Wikings Billion Dollar Baby) complete recovery and for the funds to ensure that happy outcome. Dear Lord, hear our humble, heartfelt prayers.
Thank you for the prayer thread, Sensei.
Awwww....What an absolutely ADORABLE picture! Look at that little face. Give her a big hug and a kiss from me. Please keep us informed.
Thanks for the ping, BG. The picture just melts my heart. I can’t type what should be done to those that hurt little children and animals.
prayers
Thoughts and prayers are with her. We have a house of rescues, although they are cats and have lost a few due to congenital defects.
My prayers are with the pup and Sal.
They certainly seem to be this time...:)
She’s eating like a pig, hasn’t thrown up or seized and -screams- to be taken out of her crate to go potty on her puppy pad so her bedroom doesn’t get sullied.
She *runs* around the bedroom, rarely bonking into anything.
As bleak as her future was warned to possibly be, I have real hope that the neuro people will find out what’s going on in that cute little noggin and be able to help her get better.
If she stays vision-impaired, so be it.
She will be loved all the more for being ‘special’.
Endless thanks to everyone who’s helped her and I’m sorry I’m not able to keep up with all the posts or emails.
Her feeding/potty/play/medication schedule has us both hopping and living/sleeping in 2-3 hour shifts.
Slings, if you help ping everybody for her daily update, I’d sure appreciate it.
It’s my turn to tend to her so hubby can rest and I’m not sure when I’ll be back on FR tonight.
She was eating Hills Science diet canned food but I just switched her to Taste of The Wild Puppy, soaked to mush.
She gobbles it down!
The stupid breeders were expecting her to eat cheap ‘confetti’ dog food with no soaking and tiny, useless baby teeth.
She’s gotten better enough to be acutely aware now that her siblings and mom aren’t here and cries for them often.
My heart breaks.
Puppies should stay with their litter *at least* 8 weeks, preferably 10 or 12.
But, it is what it is.
If she’d stayed there 2 more ~hours~, we’d be having a memorial thread for her, instead.
I barely got her to the e-vet in time, as it was.
[she was on her way *out*]
I am going to try to get a video of her running around for you all, so you can see how far she’s come in such a short time.
Truly, it is a miracle.
I am so glad to hear this good news. Give her a big kiss for me. :} smooch
Such good news, Sal!!!
Thank you Jesus!!
Come on Dolla...you can DO this!!
