SAN FRANCISCO -- A woman backing out of her garage in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood drove over and killed a man sleeping outside her home, police said Wednesday.
The man was sleeping on the ground outside the 28-year-old woman's garage on Third Street near Bryant Street at 7 a.m. Tuesday when she backed out in her sedan and rolled over him, . . .

A helluva way to start your day.
I don’t recommend parking yourself in someone else’s driveway.
But she should have paid some attention. "I didn't know there was somebody behind me!" is NOT a valid excuse for running somebody over.
I frankly don’t understand how that would instantly kill someone.
She didn’t knock him down, or hit him at a high rate of speed.
A ton rolled over him, and I can believe injuries and even death if no medical care was given, but instant death? Doesn’t sound likely to me.

I think it can be. You enter your garage from your house, back up slowly, looking in your rear view and over your shoulder -
if you can’t see a person lying there I don’t think that is your fault. Standing there, yes, it’s your fault.
Another bump in the road of the Obama recovery...
LOL!!!
Patrick Moran will assist the deceased with voting for 0bama.
more like obozo just got an additional vote
Perhaps the taxpayer funded homeless kits should now include orange vests and flags.
San Francisco is said to be very liberal in their policies n the homeless.
Arguably, those liberal policies, which in part allow these people to sleep and do anything else in public, are part of why he was run over. Probably there is nothing you can do to get rid of sleeping homeless off of your driveway in that city.
This happened to my brother years ago. He got in his car after leaving the bar. The car parked in front of him backed out, and he pulled forward to drive through the now open parking spot.
Trouble was, some other college kid had passed out in between the two cars, and my brother drove over his leg or something. (Luckily he had a small car). My brother called an ambulance, etc. I imagine my brother’s insurance covered the medical bills. The passed-out kid tried to sue my brother for pain and suffering, etc., but nothing came of it.
“A helluva way to start your day.”
Or end it, depending on your point of view.
Imagine a cantaloupe under a tire. Think head injuries.
In New York they get compacted in dumpsters.
I wonder what an autopsy would show as to actual cause of death.
Ahem, I believe this lady has disproved that.
Visualize a tube of toothpaste.
The worthless city union government won't touch 'em, but are constantly after the producing citizens for "pay toll" revenue schemes.
We otta open season and put a bounty on 'em.
