It’ll either be a one time cannon or a bomb....

To be FAIR, Kirk used ginormous diamonds lying all over the place and the "wick" was from Starfleet trousers, which were made of God knows what. Plus, who said that the "cannon" was made of bamboo?
It was an alien world, with carbon, sulfur spilling out of rocks, and a "Gorn" running around in a rubber suit.
Have to give this one a "maybe".

With Shatner, all things are possible. And neither of those guys are William Shatner. Case closed.

"Its kind of scary you know those details"
 Guilty as charged.
I know just about anything from TOS.
But don't ask me anything about ANY other SF series or book.

So many things wrong with this video
Most important this was was a controlled experiment done by the Mentrons nothing was by chance.

The bamboo wasn't from earth, the charcoal, saltpeter or sulfur wasn't from earth we don't know their purity. The mentrons most likely placed these ingredients in easy to get to locations so they purified it.

They never got an expert to know how to put Black powder together or a cannon.

In other words Trash in trash out on this so called Myth

So many things wrong with this video And worst of all, they sent a red shirted guy to try to recreate it. Of course the red shirted guy is going to get blown up, haven't they watched the show?

Actually it was the Metrons, not the Mentrons.

Plus, who said that the "cannon" was made of bamboo? Add in that the alien that put them their stated that there would be "weapons" to be found...
So it not bamboo made in to a cannon...it was a cannon made to look like bamboo
