Romney has become all things to all voters. A chicken in every pot, be it Tea Party or not...

Where's Waldo? No, where's Romney.

Who knows where he will be or what political position he will change or pivot on. On one page you look for Waldo, er, I mean Romney, and you find him among a crowd of Tea Partiers, on the next page he is standing among a crowd of moderates, and then on yet another page he is hanging out with Democrats!

Romney will without reservation repeal OdumbaCare! Now he likes the idea of keeping the policy of covering pre-existing conditions, and likes the idea of extending to age 26 staying on the parent(s) health insurance. Who knows what else and how much he will pivot on and decide to keep.

Romney signed a pledge for a federal constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. Then later says that the states should decide.

Romney goes hard core on the issue of illegal immigration, then recently says that he likes Obama's position on not deporting certain illegals who meet a certain criteria and who came here at a certain age. True conservatives were not pleased.

All of this is but the tip of the iceberg. Many threads on far more political positions and Romney's reversals on them have been posted. Rinolist.org - check it out.

The book "Morris Dictionary of Word and Phrase Origins" is a must for every bookshelf. If you peruse its pages, you will find a certain comment from a certain person who said that there are times when some politicians feel the need to rise above convictions.

Romney apparently has felt that need.

Virgil Goode for president and all R's down ballot? Does that sound too bad? Everyone votes as they will. It is up to each to decide.

Hopefully there will be more Tea Partiers in the House and Senate, with the GOP controlling the House and Senate. Even if Romney wins, he (being a RINO at heart) will end up fighting with elected Tea Partiers on a host of issues, thus weakening the Tea Party, as the MSM will side with a RINO over the Tea Party.

But if Romney doesn't win... a clear distinction between the Tea Party in the House and Senate with Obama's policies - would that be a bad thing?

Perhaps Romney is seeking to be a President of the United States, instead of the Democratic Union’s of Amerika?

(stunning revelation, not every human is liberal, non liberals think themselves human too!)

I am unwilling to do anything now but assume a Romney victory, because I don’t have confidence that we will have another meaningful election after an Obama reelection. If Romney doesn’t win and have a Republican Senate the country likely will not recover in my lifetime.

Assuming a Romney win and a Republican Senate, we must in addition to the sine qua non of aborting the “Affordable” (yeah, right) “Care” amounting only to band aids and palliatives - Act, address the real enemy of constitutional democracy. The enemy of the Tea Party, in case you hadn’t noticed, is the "credulity,” as Adam Smith would put it, of the public for “objective” (that is, homogeneous, self-interested, and irresponsible) journalism. Everything else is just a symptom. The way to address journalism is to make a frontal attack on the abuse of the English language. Thomas Paine told us in Common Sense that “Society” and “government” are two entirely different things. Society is good, but government is a necessary evil. So at least in the House of Representatives, it should be out of order to use the term “society” unless the intended meaning is distinct from government.

A lot of people who vote do not inform themselves in any other way than to watch THE NEWS on TV. Very well, that is their choice - but at least during election campaign season, public interest TV must be mandated. THE NEWS as we know it is designed to interest the public and not for the public interest, which is an entirely different thing. Instead of allowing FCC licensees to promote the naked self interest of journalism - which is in fact to promote criticism over performance, not so coincidentally the motivation of the Democratic Party - FCC licensees should be directed to televise true debates between Democrat and Republican candidates for all elected offices. The “Candy Crawley Moderation Rule” should be that the debates are conducted with only a chess timer for a moderator. And instead of having restrictions against notes, debaters will be expected to make Power Point presentations. The objective of the debate must be to maximize public knowledge of the facts and logic of public issues, rather than providing “gaffes” for journalists’ enjoyment. FCC licensees should be required to devote enough time to those debates - for POTUS, for senator, for representative, and for Governor - that the money in politics would be driven into the primary elections, where we have the real problem of reducing the issues down to binary choices for election day.

Rita, God states clearly in scripture to His people that they are to make the choice between Him or their own ways: ‘I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse: therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live.’ - Deuteronomy 30:19

While God takes responsibility for all things, including evil - (as He is in charge of all things) - like any Father - often He lets His children make their own choices and suffer the consequences of them. Therefore the Curse.

God did not set Romney in front of us ala David, nor - not even as Saul. Romney is the result of this people choosing for themselves the constant lesser of evils and the other half demanding a king - and making government their god.

What is set before us is due the character of our people. The solution - is being ridiculed, even on a forum said to be dedicated to the Conservative and Christian way. God allowed it - even to the point that this people sat on their hands and watched a minority thrust Him from our culture while compromising with the same for tolerance and expedience.

Consequences follow. Obama and Romney both being sums of that equation.

Everyone should vote as they are led, but let us not delude ourselves into ascribing Romney as an anointing from God. He is the result of a lukewarm people and faith that would make him king to replace the Marxist king, make no mistake about that.

We continue to choose what we of ourselves have decided is right before our own eyes and void the prism of God and scripture. We have chosen death and cursing to be our lot and have deceived ourselves into believing we are choosing life and blessings.

"At no time has Romney waded in with Tea Partiers. He kept his distance and vice versa. After the primary, most tea partiers realized he’s our only shot at ending the Obamanation...-ilgipper

Romney ingratiated himself with the Tea Party Movement during the primaries.

In fact, I met him at a Tea Party Rally during the primaries where he spoke.

Some movers and shakers in the TPM supported him at that time, others got on the band wagon when they realized that the GOP would NOT nominate a Conservative. (This was after he was nominated, they kept pulling for Conservatives until that time.)

They gritted their teeth and started promoting him.

That being said, I don't see him as a Tea Party candidate. Except by default.

20 years ? Try 4 years with a state and state government that was 85% liberal wackos. How would anyone get anything done there? You give the wackos what they want and try to shape it as best you can. He was establishing credentials for the job he was meant to have.

Time will tell, but I believe what we're seeing is a very conservative Mormon who knows what he's doing and knows how to fix our particular set of problems.

If we follow through and elect lots of Tea-Partiers, he'll be in position to challenge the rest of the remaining libs into seeing reality.

He will defend conservatism and its inherent logic and common sense. He will beat it over the head of commie media, talking Reagan-like over their heads appealing to those who landslide him into office with a massive electoral win. He will use that mandate to further pummel the media if they try to undermine him and the constitution.

This will be one historic administration, and my hopes are high its ALL good.

I was dumbstruck that CBS this morning (Friday?)allowed a glowing report about his kindnesses. They're starting to see that he's a uniquely good man. And they know of course, Obie is a Chicago crook, in over his head, dangerous to our national well-being, etc....

There is nothing more S.T.U.P.I.D. than asserting the survival of Conservatism rests upon voting for Romney.

I have a strong feeling that conservatives are going to have to fight a lot with the GOP while Romney is president. Congress can not afford to be a rubber stamp to any more “bi-partisan” screw-ups.

There is a massive amount to clean up if Obama gets out.

*””20 years ?””*

Yes of course 20 years, Mitt is a career politician who has been running for office for 2 decades, he has been involved in politics for more than 50 years, starting as an intern, Mitt was even a supporter and fund raiser, and voter for democratic candidates and Planned Parenthood.

Mitt has worked many campaigns in his life since the early 1960s and was at the 1964 GOP convention.

Mitt was the 4th republican governor in a row in Massachusetts, a state that before Mitt, preferred GOP governors.

Mitt is a lifelong liberal that left the republican party because of Ronald Reagan, has been pro-abortion since 1963, was anti-Jesse Helms, anti-Contract with America, and to the left of Ted Kennedy on issues like homosexuals, and was a hard left governor. Mitt chose to run in Massachusetts Instead of Utah, and thinks of William Weld as his mentor and the closest to him in ideology and politics, Mitt despises conservatives and Reagan.

You don’t seem to have any idea who this 65 year old politician is.

My dear friend, I believe we agree on the fundamentals heart to heart. So that I and mine might live, as scripture requires, I must accept a drink of vinegar, and support a lesser candidate, so that I and mine might live, as Deuteronomy speaks.

Please don’t mistake what I said for I said Mitt is but a reflection of the poor condition of the “better” half. Set before us, is the reflection of half the people. You are so correct to say he is no annointed one, but for us infrared he is the appointed one, given our sorry state.

I think how “good” Christian people poured out off their homes, moved away for “employment opportunities”, leaving their extended family and relatives behind, mothers left the home for “careers”, leaving their children behind, even infants to day care, children to state schools, trading instruction in the faith, family time, shared meals, for soccer practice, football practice, extracurricular busyness, and because we gave God an hour or two on most Sundays but not even all, we deign to think our governance should reflect “good” values and better candidates.

So I agree with you, but I see Obama, frankly, as possibly the seed of Hagar and Romney as simply a Gentile, outside the people of God. There is a difference. The Caliphate enabler isn’t Romney. One was to make war forever, and I see the Middle East on fire, and drone locust in the sky.

I may not like everything about Mr. Romney, but I like him a whole lot better than 0.

Unfortunately, that is our choice. Given the alternative, I'll accept it gladly.

Tell me, as passionate as you are, how much of your wealth and time did you dedicate to moving a suitable candidate forward in the primary? You want to give lectures on purity, so let's here it. How pure were you? Or are you just feeling self-righteous?

Do you think the 1st century Christians would have preferred a Ceasar that didn't kill them? Or were they too pure to pick among nonbelievers?

Welcome to the Obama ticket. I'm sure he greatly appreciates your support, even the passive variety.

Sadly Rita, we have been drinking the vinegar of lesser evils for so long that the choice between a Democrat Socialist and an overt Marxist today - will end up into a choice between a Stalin/Hitler and a Nero/Mao at some cycle in the near future. What was considered evil and totally unacceptable to our priors, is today called good, while good (such as standing on faith and principle and refusing to compromise) is being called evil, by even those that at one time would have attended worship with us.

We were warned these days would be upon us. By both scripture and the Founders themselves.

At minimum, there is an accounting of what we did with the blessings and talents afforded us. Did we compromise for the sake of expedience for safety and security - or did we risk the thorns of this evil world by standing upon what is more eternally important?

Where I am most concerned, is that our people are grown so lukewarm in faith - they are lofting a man into a defacto position of savior out of abject fear of the other. The people have made a monarchy out of the Presidency - indeed, near popery - and even those in our rank of religion and ideology have succumbed and granted that power to the executive in their quest to anoint another man to the office for the vain hope of undoing the evil of the current king.

God seems to have given us over to our lusts and debased minds as Romans 1:28 warns. My focus now is on the remnant of the faith that see their allegiance to Christ as more than just a once a week ritual. We have to admit to ourselves there is no power or substance to our religion having influence in our culture any longer - exactly as Paul warned a young Timothy about such an evil generation in II Timothy 3.

Only a moral and religious people are capable of maintaining liberty, which includes electing leaders that are beholden to those principles. Yet we read nearly every day - the ridicule ascribed to anyone lauding those principles if they would not surrender them to vote for the lesser and expedient candidate.

I would love for this nation to pull a Nineveh when Jonah was sent, but such a thing is not going to come as a result of voting for political candidates to high office while resting our hopes on them.

Wow. I just so agree with you. I’m sure everyone around here does.

I think of Lot conversing with God; “ Lord, if there be but 10, but nine, but eight...... “, that God might stay His hand.

I presume nothing of our Lord, given our sorry state and complete lack of understanding, even among believers, of what repentance is, a sorrow for our laxity and faithlessness and a reversal of course. We may not be there yet. Terrible suffering and great “needyness” educates and brings Wisdom.

One wonders what it will take. Thanks.
