Where's Waldo? No, where's Romney.
Who knows where he will be or what political position he will change or pivot on. On one page you look for Waldo, er, I mean Romney, and you find him among a crowd of Tea Partiers, on the next page he is standing among a crowd of moderates, and then on yet another page he is hanging out with Democrats!
Romney will without reservation repeal OdumbaCare! Now he likes the idea of keeping the policy of covering pre-existing conditions, and likes the idea of extending to age 26 staying on the parent(s) health insurance. Who knows what else and how much he will pivot on and decide to keep.
Romney signed a pledge for a federal constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. Then later says that the states should decide.
Romney goes hard core on the issue of illegal immigration, then recently says that he likes Obama's position on not deporting certain illegals who meet a certain criteria and who came here at a certain age. True conservatives were not pleased.
All of this is but the tip of the iceberg. Many threads on far more political positions and Romney's reversals on them have been posted. Rinolist.org - check it out.
The book "Morris Dictionary of Word and Phrase Origins" is a must for every bookshelf. If you peruse its pages, you will find a certain comment from a certain person who said that there are times when some politicians feel the need to rise above convictions.
Romney apparently has felt that need.
Virgil Goode for president and all R's down ballot? Does that sound too bad? Everyone votes as they will. It is up to each to decide.
Hopefully there will be more Tea Partiers in the House and Senate, with the GOP controlling the House and Senate. Even if Romney wins, he (being a RINO at heart) will end up fighting with elected Tea Partiers on a host of issues, thus weakening the Tea Party, as the MSM will side with a RINO over the Tea Party.
But if Romney doesn't win... a clear distinction between the Tea Party in the House and Senate with Obama's policies - would that be a bad thing?
OK....so we are not 100% certain where Romney, the successful capitalist will pivot next. But you failed to mention that we are 100% certain where the radical socialist from Chicago will take the country.
I think I will go with some uncertainty over 100% metaphysical certainty.

You can't compare Reagan trying to deal with the public's knowledge that he was a famous right-winger, to a man who is famous among conservatives for being anti-Reagan and anti-conservative.

Presidents/politicians are not God, thanks be to God, they are simple humans and some are better than others and we get to vote for the “some are better than other” in most elections.
While the left looks for Utopia the right looks for conservative saints who think and act exactly like they do. That person does not exist.
I’m not fan of Romney, and I dare anyone to find a post where I’ve been overjoyed by his being the (R) candidate for President. But, in spite of endless attempts by you and other diligent 5th columnists to get your black plague put back into office, I’m going to vote for the better man.
I don’t know what Romney will do if he gets into office, but I damned sure DO KNOW what the marxist mulatto is going to do.

Ronald Reagan had a core set of principles that he stood on and would not move from. Can you honestly say the same about Romney?
The choice between Romney and Obama is like a choice between a broken leg and lung cancer. Yeah, I'm going to choose the broken leg, but I'm not going to be happy about it and all things considered I'd rather not have either one. And I'm also not going to forget it and plan on making sure that in 2016 I'm not faced with the same kind of choice all over again. And the way to do that is to nominate an actual conservative for the presidency in 2016 and make Romney the first sitting president since Chester Arthur to be denied his party's nomination for re-election.
You are welcome to put your principles and the truth in a bound leather book, which you can read over and over again during Obama's next four years. <\NO SARCASM>
Conservative lost the first election (the primary), mainly because we failed to field a strong candidate. Now we have a second election. I prefer to defeat Obama and keep pushing Romney to the right. I'm certain we'll have better luck with Romney than Obama.
You can fall back on the Obama train wreck theory, but Marxists have a lot of experience with turning train wrecks into power.

You're complaining about Romney changing his views while voting for a former Democrat office holder? Yeah, that makes sense.

That wasn’t the argument. What Laissez-faire seemed to be suggesting was that it was somehow ‘wrong’ for Romney to talk to different segments of the electorate, which is simply idiotic.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter whether you like or dislike Romney, what matters is how you vote, and if you vote for Gary Johnson (as this guy is doing), all you’re doing is giving a vote to Barry so you can have a wet dream over how principled you were. It’s annoying, and the continual posting of these same “I hate Romney and am voting third party because I have more values than anybody” threads is getting stale.
