Atlas Shrugged II (Vanity)

Reporting from South Central Pennsylvania ...

I took the family to see Part II this afternoon. We had to travel to Susquehanna Twp. (Harrisburg Regal Theater) to see the film. The 12:55 pm showing was nearly unattended and was in one of the smaller theaters in the multiplex. I was disappointed in that, although I am anti-social and it was basically like sitting in front of my big screen at home (just a bigger screen) which was nice.

My 17 year old daughter has read the book. It is good to hear her say that the book is better than the film. My 15 year old daughter is finally motivated to read the book. When we returned home, she immediately started reading.

Overall the film was good. The message is powerful. I did not particularly like the change in cast form Part I, especially Miss Taggert. The actress in Part I was much hotter looking and equally capable of acting. I also preferred the Eddie from Part I. My family also liked the cast from Part I better, and was even more outspoken than me. That, however, didn't ruin the film for any of us. I am not going to pay to see the film again, but I will watch it when it is on Netfilx or On-Demand.

I saw Atlas Shrugged part 2 today, in a mega-plex theater in the Dallas suburbs. The theater was about half full.
The acting was OK, the message spot on. I loved the “Recovery Czar” and spotting various cameos.

We saw 2016 Obama’s America. Very insightful. Definitely explains inconsistencies of helping develop third world industries and businesses funded by American tax payers while shutting down our industries.
I wish they had included info on Dinesh D’Souza giving George Obama $1,000 for his kid’s surgery. It would have improved the emotional impact of the hypocrisy of Obama saying we should all be “my brother’s keeper”.

Part 1 for me, didn't adequately tie in the importance of the missing people.

You're watching a railroad and metal company battling the govt, and every 20 mins some guy talks to another guy and he's missing.

Who cares who Midas Mulligan is? If you haven't read the book after watching part 1 you don't even know he exists.

I’m probably not a very sophisticated movie goer, but . . I loved Atlas Shrugged II. Written in 1957 it was prophetic about what the libtards and big government people are up to. The movie is getting no publicity from mainstream outlets and there was only about a dozen people watching it in my local theatre. Some of the “high brow” reviews say that it is too sophisticated for a typical American audience. Thank you government schools!

I say to all Freepers, Watch it!

one may / shall argue about the actors & such
but, the main massage / theme was delivered strongly.

I didn’t know that D’Souza gave money to George! More than his half brother did!

I saw an interview with Dinesh D’Souza where George Obama called Dinesh his brother, since he could reach Dinesh and receive $1000 for his child needing surgery. The request came after filming for the movie.
