My first gun show.
Posted on 10/07/2012 5:06:34 PM PDT by deputytess
I went to my 1st gun show today. It was awesome. I bought a Gadsden tee, got an Romney / Ryan bumper sticker and joined the NRA. Time & money well spent. I could kick myself for not going to one sooner.

Have noticed that Wal_mart no longer carries .223 Ammo. Went into three different stores over the last few weeks and there was none to be had. I was not on an ammo hunt, but was in wally world for other things and went by the ammo cabinet just for to see...nada.

You should have gone way sooner. Like four or five decades. There used to be one near me in Aledo Il. that took up a whole fairgrounds. No legal hassles, lots of cool stuff and low prices. Of course gun violence was epidemic under these circomstances.

I rarely buy guns at gunshows, but I do buy most of my ammo there as well as accessories and knick-knacks. Ours runs 5-6 times per year and I rarely miss it.

Lots of opportunity for private sales at the gun shows I go to. True in Ohio, not true in all states.

Good for you. I have not been to many, but have enjoyed the ones I have gone to. Generally, don’t find a lot of liberals there, which is always a plus.

Went to one in September. Bought two rifles, some gun powder, accessories, and joined the Virginia Citizens Defense League.
Went to a gun raffle yesterday. They raffled off about 150 guns. I won a rifle.
The past 30 days have been good to me.

3 weeks ago, we got thigh holsters for our Springfield XDM .45s, 2K rounds of .223, and a crystal knickknack I’ve been looking for.
Good stuff!

The one coming up in Tulsa is the best one I’ve ever gone to. They have it 2 times a year, spring & fall. Nov. 11 I believe is the weekend this time. It is huge, if you walk all the aisles, you will walk over 6 miles.

The last time I went to the Tulsa gun show was around 1988. I recall a couple of things about it.
First, it literally took all day to briefly look over each table. Second, I noticed the prices were generally better than here in Florida. Sometimes way better.

You are referring to the Tulsa Wanenmacher Gun Show on November 10-11, 2012. I go every year and last year actually saw people buying ammo by the pallet.

The one I go to in Fredericksburg has only about 600 or so tables but I can waste an entire day looking and deciding how I want to spend my cash.
My daughter and her boyfriend go with me and we have a great time. My wife and son love to shoot but don't have the stomach for a whole day at a gun show.
To: Ouderkirk
noticed that. look everytime i go there andzero .223. they either are out of it or deliberatly withholding the stuff.
